Sodexo Corporate Services is looking for a Food Operations Manager 1/Catering Operations Manager to join our team at PTC located in the Seaport area of Boston MA! PTC is a cutting edge technology firm specializing in software and augmented reality. PTC's product is ahead of the curve so they are looking for food program that matches their technology.

 

The Food Operation at this location consists of 2 Cafes, 2 Coffee Shops, Vending and Conference Catering to include Boardroom and Day to Day Catering Operations.   There is no kitchen on-site so the food for this location is coming from a commissary kitchen close by.  

 

The Food Operations Manager/Catering Operations Manager will be the number 2 for the location and must have extensive catering background as that is the majority of the business at this location.  Duties include but not limited to: 

  • Managing 1 hourly employee and up to 20 per diem employees depending on the catering events
  • Coordinating all logistics; set-up and breakdown of event with facilities.
  • Coordinating with housekeeping
  • Ensuring tickets for any equipment & Audio visual needs are executed
  • Create floor plans and acquire rental furniture or other items for events
  • Responsible for budget/finances
  • Client interaction
  • Oversee the food deliveries

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a high paced environment, and have exceptional organizational skills, with the able to hand multiple priorities.  

 

This position offers a traditional Business and Industry, Monday through Friday, schedule. Accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation per year (first year pro-rated based on date of hire).  Medical Benefits beginning date of hire, and 401K with company match eligible.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

- Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships,  to ensure account retention

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and  regulatory agencies 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
