Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities /Maintenance Operations Manager 1 supporting our schools division in Grandview, MO.  Do you love making a difference and working for children and communities? Come join an exciting well performing team here at Grandview C-4 Schools.  As Facilities Operations Manager - you will oversee day to day operations for our 12 schools and auxiliary buildings.  We are looking for a great candidate with solid working knowledge of mechanical systems such as roof top units, boilers, chillers and VRF systems.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Maintenance Department team and have:

  • a great working knowledge of all facets of building maintenance and repair;. 
  • be self-driven, experience in managing staffs, multi-tasking in a face pace environment.
  • experience managing a high volume of square footage or multiple buildings is a plus. 
  • ability to communicate and relate to both the Building Administrators and Department heads as well as maintenance team
  • flexibility to work after as needed after hours - this salaried position will be on call.

  • minimum of 3 years managing and/ or supervising Maintenance team, skilled construction trades and overall building repairs
  • strong working knowledge of HVAC, skilled construction trades and overall building repairs
  • the ability or experience in implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program efficiently
  • extraordinary customer service, relationship building and communication skills.
  • excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.\u200b
  • strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building.
  • experience managing budgets, tracking expenditures, and building budgets
  • understands the importance and commits to workplace safety and Quality of Life services
  • knowledge or experience using a web-based maintenance CMMS application
  • the ability to train, present and talk in front of groups
  • ability to send concise and effective communication via email etc. 
  • computer skills including Microsoft Office- word, excel and PPT specifically.

Position Summary

Responsible for a single scope of work in hard services area. 3rd in command Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present. In Univ. same as above as well as size and scope is less than an Ops 2;

Key Duties- Manage one other manager; typically in account with smaller volume and FTE count; Manage by walking around; Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development

- Technical client interface

- Payroll and time mgmt. of frontline staff

- Oversees and coordinates projects

- Manages work orders/CMMS

- Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)

- Manages financials

- Responsible for client relations/engagement

- Manages QA and Safety

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years
