Sodexo is seeking a Facilities / Engineering Operations Manager 1 for a Medical Center located near St. Louis, MO.

As the Maintenance Manager, oversees a new Facilities Maintenance contract at a Medical Center (and outlying medical treatment facilities) near St. Louis, MO. Will be responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance, site safety, quality control, quality assurance, mandatory reporting, inspections, etc. at the main medical center and it's surrounding facilities totaling approximately 400K sf.

Facilities/Engineering Operations Manager 1 (a.k.a.OMPR Team Leader) Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technically qualified in the field of Healthcare Facilities Maintenance and shall have, as a minimum, five (5) years of experience in hospital operations and maintenance, including the supervision of a diversified work force responsible for 24-hour (24/7/365) operations, maintenance and repair of medical or commercial facility infrastructure systems.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in supervision, and a minimum experience of two (2) trades.
  • Working experience with NFPA, EPA, TJC, OSHA codes and standards.
  • Experience with The Joint Commission compliance (maintenance and documentation [including all DMLSS work requests and all supporting testing/certification/verification (in-house or subcontracted) documentation] requirements for Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety (LS) compliance) as required for healthcare facilities, is desirable.
  • Experience in a government health care environment is desirable.
  • Able to perform all maintenance operations necessary to execute all scheduled maintenance and unscheduled maintenance events in accordance with established regulatory requirements.
  • Able to negotiate, manage, and supervise all specialty subcontracted work.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

    • experience with the Join Commission, Environment of Care (EOC), OSHA and Life Safety requirements;
    • strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, safety systems, civil, low voltage, demolition, architectural and energy management;
    • business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding;
    • excellent customer service and communication skills;
    • staff development and team building experience;
    • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) is a plus; and
    • a bachelors degree in engineering or related fields preferred.

    Position Summary

    Responsible for a single scope of work in hard services area. 3rd in command Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present. In Univ. same as above as well as size and scope is less than an Ops 2;

    Key Duties- Manage one other manager; typically in account with smaller volume and FTE count; Manage by walking around; Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development

    - Technical client interface

    - Payroll and time mgmt. of frontline staff

    - Oversees and coordinates projects

    - Manages work orders/CMMS

    - Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)

    - Manages financials

    - Responsible for client relations/engagement

    - Manages QA and Safety

     

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

    Basic Management Experience - 3 years
