Sodexo is seeking an experienced and accomplished Executive Chef 3, Regional Operations Support to join our Senior Living team to support accounts located in the Northeast Region.  The position will be based out of one of our accounts located in Central New York and will travel approximately 80% of the time.  This position is temporary and can range in length up to 18 months, requiring extensive travel with the typical schedule being 10 days on with 4 days off.  Must process a strong coaching and teaching skill-set for developing teams and implementing Sodexo programs.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • have prior culinary experience as an executive chef;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

  • Training: Must be able to articulate and demonstrate a wide ranging variety of cooking techniques and skills for the catering staff (plate presentation, quality, safety, proper culinary techniques).
  • Financial: Ability to show proven results with food costs, labor and controllable expenses.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a large sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.- Manages food & physical safety programs. 

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
