Sodexo at Childrens Wisconsin is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations.  Located in Metro-Milwaukee, WI, Children's Wisconsin is one of the top childrens hospitals in the nation.  Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will join a team of three additional operational leaders, in-unit HRM, Controller, and lead a team comprised of a sous chef/supervisor and approximately thirty Sodexo hourly employees. This is a highly visible role that will challenge you to bring your best each day!


As our executive chef, you will lead culinary and production operations for our full-service, 24/7, high-volume cafeteria and catering.  This position regularly interacts with patients through our Chef-to-Child program, collaborates with Clinical Nutrition, coordinates regularly scheduled patient and family centered special events, and executes high profile board of director meetings. 


In this role, the successful candidate may also look forward to: 

  • implementing best-in-class Sodexo production systems
  • optimizing purchasing and inventory practices, controlling expenditures, and mitigating waste
  • acting upon various data to eliminate food waste
  • acting upon various data to drive customer experience and satisfaction
  • scheduling and training
  • working closely with co-leaders to coordinate shared scheduling efficiencies
  • ensuring culinary operating standards meet and exceed benchmarks
  • driving compliance to HACCP principles
  • supporting cash handling/management


The ideal candidate for this position will be a collaborative leader, passionate culinarian, patient/family/customer experience focused, possess strong financial acumen to meet budgetary objectives, and eager to build and maintain strong client relationships. This position requires tact and polish, strong communication skills, both written and oral, an in-depth understanding of culinary and production systems, and computer skills to support daily operations [to include the Microsoft Suite]. Equally as important as a passion for the culinary arts is the proven ability to lead a team. Healthcare and P&L experience is a plus.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
