Sodexo is hiring an Executive Chef 2 at Weber State University located in beautiful Ogden, UT. RELOCATION is available for this position! Our Division I football campus is nestled in the mountains of northern Utah.  With almost 30,000 students on this commuter campus, Weber Dining manages a large retail  and catering program and a resident dining program that wows our customers. The Catering department handles events up to the thousands with both casual and fine dining menus.  Our campus is home to a Starbucks and Einstein Bagel Bros.,  as well as 5 other restaurants and 2 convenience stores.   Weber State is located just minutes away from a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities including world-class ski resorts, national parks, sporting events, shopping, and restaurants. Salt Lake City is a transportation hub and the SLC International Airport is 40 minutes away.

Located in the heart of the Wasatch mountains Weber University is just 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. Our recently renovated kitchens service a Food On-Demand Dinning Hall that nourishes 300 students daily in restaurant style. The Weber University Center features local and National brands and the campus catering operation shines during busy summer conferencing. Most Major Holidays off!

 

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Two years of experience high-volume, fast paced chef required, campus-dining preferred
  • Manage the daily food production including production planning and controls
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
  • Manage food costing, controls and compliance
  • Develop menus and manage inventory
  • Have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees
  • Have a passion for food and innovation
  • Have knowledge of special diets and allergens
  • Knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS - DIRVE) is preferred

The ideal candidate has:

  • Strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
  • Previous experience working in a high volume facility
  • Strong management skills

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.

 

Qualifications & Requirements
