Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for Bridgewater Retirement Community in Bridgewater, VA. This is a 350 Resident Continuing Care Retirement Community located in the Harrisonburg Metro area in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Executive Chef will oversee 3 new dining venues; responsible for employee management, inventory management and purchasing for $1 - $2 million in volume, food quality and standards, food and kitchen safety and sanitation monitors for regulatory compliance.


The successful candidate will:

  • manage the food production for resident dining, retail venues, and catered events with the focus on resident involvement and well-being.
  • train and develop culinary food production teams & hold them accountable for successful outcomes.
  • manage and train a team of 30 
  • manage the inventory and purchasing of food and goods

  • Culinary Degree or Trade School Certificate and Servsafe Certificate
  • Senior Living, Fine dining, Country Clubs ,Hotels Campus, University & Corporate Dining experience
  • Ability to manage inventory for a budget of $2 million or more
  • HR skills to train & develop culinary food production teams
  • Computer skills; food & labor management systems
  • Working knowledge of HACCP monitors for Regulatory Compliance
  • Menu Planning for resident dining, food retail and catering
  • Experience with quality standards for food production & catering

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
