Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 2 to lead the culinary program in a a multi-faceted operation with our new client in the Battle Creek, Michigan! The Executive Chef  will oversee menu development, execution, and hourly culinary staff. This position requires a focus on excellent customer experience


This site will be at a Client Corporate Headquarters and will have high client visibility and be the single point of contact for a portfolio of accounts. This client facing position will need to have the ability to drive results through others while managing a portfolio of different size accounts. The right candidate will need to drive financial results while also ensuring a consistent culinary vision.


This individual will oversee a multi-concept retail cafe and catering for our client's corporate office. This manager will have total unit operating responsibilities including the supervision of hourly staff which include around 25 Sodexo non-union frontline employees.


This Chef will oversee around 3 million in annual managed volume for this exciting new piece of business. This individual will plan and supervise special functions, maintain cash control and payroll records, hire and train unit personnel, and maintain customer satisfaction. We are looking for candidates with a culinary background, strong leadership skills, and catering experience.


This is a High Profile position with direct contact with clients and patrons. High end catering experience mandatory with strong organizational skills a must. 


The successful candidate will:


\u2022 be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;

\u2022 ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;\u2022 ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or\u2022 have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a medium sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training.  Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution.  Key Duties- Implements & coordinates the culinary function.  - Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.- Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.- Manages catering & retail areas.- Customer & Client satisfaction.- Financial management to include food cost & labor management.-  Manages food & physical safety programs.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
