Sodexo Schools segment is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 1 in the Greater Dallas, TX area.  This is an exciting opportunity to grow your Culinary Career with an upscale K-12 account located North of the Dallas TX Metro area. We are looking for creative chefs that may have some National School Lunch Program experience along with a strong food retail background. Our chef will lead a team through hands on oversight of daily production, manage a diverse menu and expanded services including catering opportunities.


Reporting to our Executive Chef 3, the selected candidate will have 3 5 years culinary experience in high volume dining, will manage multiple schools within the school district, will implement Sodexo programs, systems, and procedures. Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual that is able to create healthful offerings. Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 3-5 years culinary background in high volume dining overseeing multiple venues - with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • previous experience in a K-12 environment and with the National School Lunch Program is preferred;
  • strong training and mentoring experience training NSLP regulations, writing menus;
  •  food retail culinary background a plus;
  • strong coaching, mentoring and employee development skills, a hands-on trainer; and
  • have a passion for food and innovation.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production;
  • ensure Sodexo and USDA/NSLP Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, train, and develop frontline (hourly-paid staff;
  • provide stellar customer/client service; 
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
