The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer's enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.

The EP&S Program Manager is the primary point of contact accountable for the execution of Portfolio programs consisting of Waterfall and Agile Projects. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that projects are appropriately staffed with the workers necessary to deliver key project commitments. This position will also manage a team of pooled/shared/matrixed resources responsible for leading or participating in new and existing EP&S projects.

The position will execute programs and projects per EP&S project execution framework and methodologies ensuring successful project delivery and that all projects are achieved on time and within scope and budget. The position will be responsible for evolving the project execution operating model and driving continuous efficiencies.

The position will perform this function reporting to the Portfolio Execution Lead and in partnership with the EP&S leadership team.


Program Manager

+ Lead EP&S internal program and project delivery from planning to close out

+ Lead the scrum teams in using Agile methodology and scrum practices

+ Coordinate user acceptance testing, as part of Project Execution Framework, with members of EP&S to ensure the features & modules are fit-for-purpose - testing coordination with EP&S Operations Excellence unit will be required

+ Engage with EP&S Solutions Enablement team to ensure updated patterns and playbooks based on project work generating changes

+ Manage a team of pooled/shared/matrixed resources responsible for leading or participating in new and existing EP&S projects

+ Monitor resource performance to ensure that projects are implemented, supported, and closed accurately and in accordance with Project Execution Framework

+ Act as the EP&S Project Execution Framework expert; Ownership of the framework content and updates to continually evolve the framework.

+ Champion and refine EP&S Program Execution Processes and Methodologies; Become a resident expert

+ Ensure all Projects are accurately recorded in EP&S plan of record

+ Proactively generate ideas to improve efficiencies through process enhancements and automation

+ Prioritize cross project dependencies for awareness and escalation

+ Participate in recurring Portfolio meeting and maintain ongoing lessons learned log to improve Portfolio Execution playbook

+ Maintain and address Program level change control and RAID items

+ Interface with EP&S Portfolio Governance & Finance teams for project prioritization, tracking and funding


+ BS in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Engineering, Sciences or related field. MBA desirable

+ 5+ years experience with program or project management

+ Prior experience on a scrum team playing a scrum master role

+ 5+ years experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industry

+ Experience managing medium to large scale and global IT projects using various methodologies

+ Excellent oral and written communications

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and influence external customers to achieve desired results

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups at multiple levels across a global organization

+ Ability to challenge, improve and develop existing practices & processes

+ Self-motivated with the ability to drive work forward

+ Expertise in Microsoft Office suite and experience with Microsoft Project & SharePoint

+ Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)

+ PMP & ITIL Certifications desired

+ Scrum Master Certification desired
