Sodexo is seeking two passionate Environmental Services Manager 2 for Rex Hospital to oversee a dynamic team at this fast paced account. Rex Hospital is a 535 bed, 1.2 million square foot hospital located in Raleigh, NC. This manager will oversee Day Shift (6:30am start time) with proven leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to join the UNC REX EVS team.  This role will support a team of approximately 25 employees for floor care projects, in-patient room cleaning, payroll, and will lead the team in engagement. This unit is part of the UNC Health system which covers the state of North Carolina.  UNC REX prides itself on quality patient outcomes, high patient satisfaction, and patient safety; it has earned an \"A\" grade on the Leap Frog survey since 2012.  The Environmental Services department at UNC REX employs 150 employees from a very diverse background and we boast on having a team from over 25 different countries around the world!  

 

The successful candidates will have experience in Environmental Services, Hotels housekeeping and/or Custodial Services, military service, and excellent customer service skills.  Sodexo is seeking a true self-starter who can lead a team under minimal supervision. Our Sodexo Health Care Environmental Services/Housekeeping teams work to direct housekeeping operations at health care client locations, partnering with them to deliver innovative solutions. These teams also have responsibility for driving client satisfaction by providing stellar customer service via effective communication with all levels of hospital staff, as well as follow-through with action items that impact both client and patient satisfaction.  At Sodexo Health Care, patients are the heart of everything we do. Our Sodexo Health Care Environmental Services/Housekeeping teams work to direct housekeeping operations at health care client locations, partnering with them to deliver innovative solutions. 

 

 

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • has experience driving customer service satisfaction results and patient engagement 
  • safety driven and strong focus on employee engagement
  • experience with all regulations governing hospitals
  • has experience with outside vendors and experience with the Join Commission, Environment of Care (EOC), OSHA and Life Safety requirements;
  • protection, safety systems, civil, low voltage, demolition, architectural and energy management;
  • has strong financial acumen and budget management experience; both Sodexo and Client
  • provides a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff; strong Environmental Service and Linen skills in a healthcare environment

 

The successful candidate will: 

  • have oversight of EVS operations and deliver a high-quality product;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals to include oversight of client contracts and support infection control
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly) staff; and MGT Employees
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met to include compliance with company food and physical safety programs.

Position Summary

Provides management oversight for Environmental Services non-exempt level staff (client and/or Sodexo employees) in the delivery of Sodexo Environmental Service Programs. Ensures Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place as required to consistently meet all company, client, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for non-exempt work force planning through effective scheduling, development of daily work flow assignments, training and development, and monitoring for compliance to the plan.

Key Duties-Establishes a safe work environment for clients, customers and staff by ensuring equipment safety and compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs and by providing safety-related training and equipment inventory maintenance.

-Provide leadership and direction to non-exempt employees-Coordinate/conduct employee training-Administer Human Resource processes (hiring, performance reviews, constructive counseling, prepare work schedules, payroll, etc.)-Interact with outside vendors-Ensure Sodexo Operating Standards for Environmental Service are in place and consistently met.-Develop/implement action plans for improvement in compliance with Sodexo Operating Standards as identified. -Reviews and maintains assigned areas of the Sodexo/Client budget commitments

 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
