Overview To provide leadership to the Engineering and Maintenance functions at the Danville, Illinois Quaker Oats Plant (Includes 3 Technical BULs, a team of project engineers, maintenance supervisors, planners, storeroom and 60+ mechanics) This includes both direct leadership of these resources, as well as, providing leadership to the operating Business Units to ensure effective execution of responsibilities. This role is part of the plant leadership team. Responsibilities Responsible for providing leadership to ensure sound maintenance principles are applied across the Danville Plant resulting in improved reliability in operations with a high degree of customer focus. Responsible for providing skilled and motivated maintenance personnel to support operations the Danville Plant and maintaining a positive and continuously improving work environment. Support the TPM process at the Danville facility. Ensure Danville Engineers have all skills sets required, including development in process Quality, production line constraint identification & remedy, and Project Management skills. Manage the plant budget for capital spend and technical services budgets. Ensure strong project engineering resources in Danville Plant that are aligned and focused to meet the Business Unit and plant needs. Ensure all maintenance personnel apply solid maintenance fundamentals. Oversee and advise on all Engineering and Maintenance functions in the Danville Plant to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead technical support to all areas of the Danville Plant in support of new product development, systems improvement and other operational areas. Ensure adequate maintenance support systems are provided for the Danville Plant. This included Maintenance operations systems, preventative maintenance, purchasing, training, etc., which will result in improved execution of maintenance functions within the facility. Ensures all plant facilities (building and grounds) are maintained in an optimum condition by managing all plant facility maintenance functions in an efficient cost effective manner. Provide reliable plant (Danville) utilities by applying sound maintenance principle to ensure uninterrupted operations. Plans and oversees the installations and maintenance of all plant facilities and utilities to ensure the plant is capable of producing present and foreseeable future needs. Qualifications Successful candidates should possess technical, leadership and managerial skills. Experience required and must possess relevant work practices (e.g. ability to work in ambiguous situations, self-starter). The incumbent must be skilled in all facets of engineering design and project management and have a broad range of experience in dry and wet processing, material handling, retail packaging, and facility construction. The incumbent must also be knowledgeable in facility maintenance, utility operation, maintenance information systems, purchasing, and the underlying principles of total productive maintenance. The person in this position must develop, train and motivate Leaders, Engineers, Team Leaders, and Maintenance employees. This person must also have exceptional influence management skills and be able to effectively lead in a union environment The incumbent should be a degreed Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience in the Engineering and Maintenance fields.
