What You'll Do

The Global Virtual Sales and Engineering organization has developed the Embark Program to provide an opportunity for candidates from a variety of industries to join the Cisco Sales Team. Top performers with transferrable skills will experience in-depth classroom training that will prepare them to add value to their respective sector (Commercial, Public, Service Provider, Enterprise) in a supporting sales role. Upon completion of the Embark Program and practical experience in a team support capacity, Virtual Sales Account Managers will be considered for open territories within their sector.

Classroom Training

Traditional classroom training will be managed by the Career Acceleration Group, covering topics such as Ciscos organization, sales segmentation, and sales methodologies. Additionally, introductory overviews of Cisco architecture will help orient new sellers on what our key offerings are, as well as how to leverage Ciscos extensive resources to support your customers.

Sales Team Support

Once you complete classroom training, you will move into a Virtual Sales Account Manager role supporting your sector. Day to day activities while in a support role will include:

  • Develop relationships with partners and clients, activating accounts.
  • Help the sales team identify and develop enterprise agreement opportunities.
  • Seek the opportunity to cross sell within active accounts.

GVSE is one of Ciscos fastest growing sales teams and is the talent engine for Cisco Sales with diverse and motivated teams that consistently deliver profitable growth. We serve our customer life-cycle through a series of selling motions to drive higher value and an optimal experience from Cisco solutions.

Requirements for Consideration

       Outstanding results over 3+ years of professional work experience.

       Passionate about sales and building positive relationships.

       High interest in the technology industry with a strong desire to learn.

       History of career progression and desire for professional development.

       Strong business acumen and can effectively communicate a value proposition to your customer base.

       Possess the ability to engage in active listening, to identify current and future pain points, and propose solutions to improve customer process.

       Phenomenal communication/presentation skills.

       Thrive in a team environment and enjoy sharing ideas and best practices.

       Flexible and resilient problem solver. Our strongest teammates have a sense of urgency to resolve issues.

Preferred Skills

       Bachelors or Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field

       You have experience owning the full sales cycle (prospecting, customer demos, negotiating and closing the sale).

       You can demonstrate strong sales achievement such as consistent achievement at or above quota, or a history YoY growth in your target market.

       Experience using digital selling tools such as Salesforce, ISDC, and LinkedIn Navigator, are a plus.
