Auto req ID: 236530BR Job Description This field position, reporting to the Supply Chain EHS Director, contributes to the success of Frito-Lay, Inc. by enabling EHS risk management including; risk identification, evaluation, control, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and post-incident management in the dynamic industry of manufacturing and warehousing. This leader is an EHS subject matter in the areas of Safety and Environmental in manufacturing locations and can clearly articulate, develop and support implementation of a risk-based, prevention program. This person is responsible for implementing the FLUS Supply Chain EHS Annual Operating Plan within their assigned regions and building the Region EHS agenda based upon the AOP and the regions risk assessment analysis. This position supports the Regional teams efforts by implementing programming, training, and consultation that helps each functional leader achieve their goals. The SC Regional EHS Manager has responsibility to anticipate EHS issues, assure risk management processes are applied, coach capabilities into the region teams, analyze accident data, and develop actionable solutions. Employee advocacy and protection of others delivered through a prevention strategy is this roles primary focus. The successful candidate will be an EHS leader for the company and be able to engage, motivate, and align the Frito-Lay Supply Chain organization towards designated EHS objectives, as well as be a part of the development, recommendation, and implementation of division EHS policies and procedures. The candidate is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class EHS programs for the improvement of the overall EHS strategy and execution of that strategy execution. Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities: Coach, develop and lead the EHS Field Organization in the execution of the Frito Lay EHS AOP across all Frito-Lay, Supply Chain locations Lead implementation of program elements/tools to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local OSHA/EPA/DOT regulations and applicable company requirements (i.e. Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety, SARA, RCRA, DOT, etc.) Provide technical and regulatory expertise in developing EHS continuous improvement processes and determining needed to follow up activities associated with EHS incidents, agency inspections, and/or internal/external audits Assist in the development of the strategic EHS annual operating plans, assess field location performance in relation to the EHS vision/plan, and determine necessary course corrections in order to achieve the plan Conduct periodic location visits and EHS activities such as training/auditing/assessing to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agency requirements, Frito-Lay EHS National procedures, and internal PepsiCo EHS procedures Execute projects related to overall EHS AOP, understand key performance indicators, benchmark amongst Frito-Lay locations to determine target location opportunities, and overall work hand-in-hand with Site Directors, Sr. Directors of HR, Regional EHS Managers, Field EHS team members, and other like key location Leadership to reduce EHS risk across the organization Develop and perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures. Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use Participate in the development of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that deliver best in class EHS performance and demonstrate a high level of urgency around needed EHS paradigm culture shift change Analyze key EHS data and help develop prevention plans to address process or risks gaps. Think strategically and ensure EHS Performance plans are timely, achievable, and performance-based Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the internal EHS organization, other business partners such as Engineering, Human Resources, Supply Chain (Manufacturing sites and In-Market Operations) businesses to drive continuous EHS improvement across the organization Define and analyze data trends and EHS performance to ensure that the right priorities are identified and acted upon for the organization. Coach leaders at all levels within the organization and use strong influencing skills around EHS goals/values and that a strong EHS culture ensures business productivity targets can be met Identify issues, coach and lead field locations in the development of a corrective action plan to address root basic causes and management system weak-spots through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (e.g. 5-Why) Oversee and lead indirect reports Expected travel up to 50% Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors degree, preferably in Environmental, Safety, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing/fleet as an EHS professional preferred Extensive knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment Displays strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills Understands and can articulate EHS requirements and regulations. Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings and training environments Demonstrates professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader. Ability to: persuade, influence and make formal presentations lead, supervise, manage and develop individuals and high-performance teams work collaboratively with colleagues to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment maintain confidentiality make independent decisions demonstrate excellent organizational skills use PC and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines travel up to 50% (dependent on business needs and fluctuation) Post graduate EHS qualifications desirable CSP, CIH, CHMM, and/or PE desirable Relocation Eligible: Eligible for Standard Relocation Job Type: Regular All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
