The Customer Office at Prudential is seeking a Director of Product Marketing, reporting to the VP of Retail Product & Workplace Marketing, responsible for driving growth and retention of new and existing retail customers by differentiating Prudentials retail investment, cash management, insurance, income, and healthcare products in the marketplace. The person in this role will oversee a team that defines design target, value proposition, positioning, message hierarchy, and marketing strategies for retail products sold to individuals through partnerships, hybrid advisors, and online. Those marketing strategies will serve as the basis for all campaigns and creative assets created by our marketing colleagues. This position requires close collaboration with our product, workplace marketing, prospect marketing, design, legal, compliance, and analytics organizations.

 

The right person will have a good mix of understanding customer needs, competition, the regulatory environment, and the ability to leverage that understanding to drive lead generation, sales, and customer engagement. Understanding revenue and cost impacts of pricing and marketing for each product will be key to success of this role.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Define the design target, value proposition, positioning, message hierarchy, marketing strategies and marketing claims for our new and existing retail products with a deep understand of customer insights, competitor insights, the regulatory environment, features and functionality, and economics for each of our retail products.
  • Develop strategic and innovative go-to-market approaches for new and enhanced retail products to drive growth, retention, and market differentiation. Collaborate with prospect marketing, life event marketing, and prospect marketing teams to ensure integrated campaigns that achieve speed to market, optimal coverage, and brand differentiation. Ensure direct product marketing programs drive awareness and position Prudentials retail products in a consistent and differentiating manner.
  • Influence the customer journeys that map to each of our retail products to drive conversion of leads to sales.
  • Support the evolution of our retail product story that portrays Prudential as a differentiated leader in the retail investments space.
  • Lead the design and delivery of creative marketing assets to deepen product relationships with existing retail clients, from strategy through execution.
  • Measure marketing outcomes against businesses objectives for every product marketing campaign and disseminate best practices. Emphasize decisions that will improve marketing ROI long-term.
  • Grow, lead and develop the optimal product marketing team.




Qualifications

Education and Experience: 


  • 7 years of marketing experience, including deep product market experience.
  • 3 years in management roles with direct reports
  • Proven experience in direct to consumer marketing and investments marketing
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree
  • P&L management experience a plus

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Product marketing experience, including positioning and messaging, value propositions, sales stories and go to market approaches
  • Must be able to demonstrate marketing strategy, planning, and execution skills.
  • Experience utilizing web marketing, email & mobile-first marketing best practices.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing and relationship skills, including experience managing agency partnerships
  • Ability to understand customer needs and perceptions, turning those insights into effective marketing programs
