The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for leading development and implementation of product marketing plans to achieve growth targets and hiring outcomes for Opportunity@Work’s solutions offering including the new Stellarworx STARs Talent Marketplace. They will co-create, evaluate and optimize the Opportunity@Work value proposition while leading the go-to-market strategy for Stellarworx and regional ecosystem initiatives such as Bay Area Opportunity Onramps. 
The ideal candidate will bring broad and deep business-to-business (B2B) product marketing experience, preferably with software-as-a-service (SaaS) products in the job search, staffing or other human-resources-related categories. The Director of Product Marketing will lead a small but growing team of product marketing professionals and will also be a vital contributor in shaping Opportunity@Work’s broader marketing and communications strategy.  
This person will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and can be based in Washington, D.C, the San Francisco/Bay Area or potentially work remotely from another location. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive awareness and action by leading product marketing strategy development, implementation and optimization.
  • Own and refine target customer personas for key segments including c-level executives, senior human resource leaders, hiring managers and workforce development partners.
  • Lead optimization of the product positioning, value proposition and messaging based on feedback from customers, training providers, and internal stakeholders 
  • Collaborate with the Stellarworx business team on landscape analysis, market segmentation, geographic strategy and pricing plans. 
  • Work across stakeholders to develop B2B go-to-market plans that contribute to hiring outcomes by generating demand and converting leads/prospects.
  • Engage agencies and consultants to create and distribute content through paid, earned and owned media channels.
  • Partner with the product team to develop and implement strategies that leverage product features and marketing automation to deepen user engagement and increase customer retention. 
  • Build out a package of sales enablement tools including presentations, case studies, success stories, customer emails, sales sheet, partner briefs, FAQs, etc.
  • Conduct message training and distribute updates to ensure staff are aligned and equipped with messaging tools for clear and consistent communication. 
  • Develop partner and advocate marketing tools that create champions within Stellarworx customers, training providers and other partners.
  • Define and socialize product marketing KPIs, monitor and report on performance, and gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to evaluate and optimize activities.
  • Monitor industry trends, identify new use cases and provide feedback to inform the Stellarworx strategic plan and product roadmap.
  • Manage, coach and develop Sr. Product Marketing Manager and other staff as the product marketing team grows.
  • Create and manage yearly budgets, contracts with vendors and agency relationships.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • An expert in B2B product marketing with 10+ years developing go-to-market strategies that achieve customer and revenue growth.
  • At least 5 years in SaaS or tech-related product marketing, ideally in a dynamic and high-growth business environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of B2B marketing strategies, best practices and tactics, including content marketing, digital marketing and field marketing. 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate market trends and customer insights into executable product and service guidance.
  • Proven track record building trust and developing strong relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, including sales and product teams. 
  • Creative and collaborative problem-solver, comfortable working through ambiguity when data may be limited.
  • Excellent people and project management skills, including managing staff and vendors (e.g. creative agencies, designers, writers etc.).
  • A “player-coach” who can lead strategy and mentor staff, but also brings the hands-on ability to create a range of marketing assets (including demo scripts, pitch decks)
  • Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in the job search, staffing or other human-resources-related category is a strong plus.
  • Experience working for a start-up a plus

  • Up to 25% post-pandemic travel

  • Compensation:  We believe in equal pay for equal work. Salary for our positions are based on market data and not what you’ve been paid before nor your negotiation skills.
  •  Healthcare: We pay 100% of your medical, dental, and vision coverage and 50% of the premium for your spouse and/or dependents. 
  •  Retirement: We match 4% of your salary (up to a maximum of $5,000) annually, and will contribute an additional 1% of your salary, even if you don’t make a contribution.
