The Director of Data Analytics is responsible for the management, development, and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary to support the individual exchange business goals, vision, and objectives. This includes leading a team of data professionals in the development of databases and other tools to organize data, generate reports, and construct models to answer key business questions. The Director of Data Analytics must be able to aggregate and analyze a variety of data including member-level claims data, enrollment data, network data, publicly available data, etc. and present executive-level summaries informed by the data.

Daily responsibilities include collaborating with business partners to prioritize requests, translating project requirements into data solutions, and investigating data questions for business owners. This individual acts as a key business partner working with leaders across teams such as product, clinical, finance and operations to provide key insights that can be used in strategic decision making. This role will report to the Senior Director of Strategy and Program Management for the Individual Exchanges within Government Programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data professionals in discovery processes with partners within the IEX team to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome
  • ""
  • Collaborate with business partners to help prioritize data reporting and analytics requests and manage assignments of team across multiple capabilities and tools
  • ""
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements. Provide thought leadership and act as a subject matter expert in the design and recommendation of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key questions and issues within the business
  • ""
  • Design and develop database solution to aggregate a variety of data from internal assets and publicly available sources
  • ""
  • Develop tools, models, and scalable user-friendly capabilities like self-service segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the business
  • ""
  • Interpret results, develop actionable insights and present recommendations for use across the business.
  • ""
  • Provide ongoing tracking and monitoring of performance of reporting and recommend ongoing improvements to methods and tools that lead to findings, including new information

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in data science
  • ""
  • 8+ years of professional work experience in IT, financial or healthcare industry
  • ""
  • 5+ years of professional data and analytical experience
  • ""
  • 4+ years of analytical experience in financial analysis, healthcare pricing, network management, healthcare economics or related discipline
  • ""
  • 3+ years of database / programming experience (SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau or similar)
  • ""
  • 3+ years of experience with financial modeling
  • ""
  • 2+ years of experience managing reporting teams
  • ""
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills
  • ""
