Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented licensed Director of Clinical Services,to join our team of compassionate and dedicated clinical professionals.

The Director of Clinical Services provides social services to patients in his/her assigned program under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the maintenance of social work standards of practice, credentialing and in-servicing of social work staff, maintenance of the social work internship program, and acts as a liaison to the Chief Executive Officer in maintaining the quality of social work services.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates Social Work role with the Clinical Nurse Managers to facilitate the therapeutic milieu.
  • Performs social work interventions as needed including psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, and acting as a liaison for hospitalized patients to various community agencies and resources.
  • Responsible for the case management model of care.
  • Coordinates daily clinical duties and schedules of unit social workers, flexes staffing as needed.
  • Supervises and evaluates the social work team.
  • Handles calls after hours related to discharge planning and coverage issues.
  • Provides clinical leadership and direction for programming.
  • Provides patient care coordination while inpatient and for discharge.
  • Works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and Clinical Nurse Managers to ensure all programming is implemented on the unit.
  • Acts as a role model and consults with clinical leaders.
Job Requirements

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work, Doctorate degree from an accredited School of Clinical Psychology, or a Doctorate degree in Psychology required.
  • Current license in the State of Michigan as a fully licensed Social Worker or Psychologist required.
  • Minimum of four years post graduate experience in a clinical setting providing direct patient services required.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a leader in a clinical setting and as member of a multidisciplinary treatment team required.
  • Five years of supervisory experience required.
  • Understanding of case management model of care required.
  • Two - four years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Employee must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, performance evaluation, ect.) to be considered for internal transfer.
