The Director of Accounting (Optum Ambulatory Services) - Irving, TX is a healthcare financial accounting position (statutory/GAAP Accounting), with experience in investments, cost accounting, accounts receivable/payable, etc. The Director of Accounting will work collaboratively with the client management executive, OAS operational leaders and client leadership to identify financial operational improvement opportunities.  This position will have an opportunity to be a key player in the optimization of a physician's group performance in Texas.     

 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Mange all accounting functions and related activities for the production of financial statements
  • Review and approve account reconciliations and support in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Maintain internal controls
  • Assist in establishment and maintenance of accounting and finance policies/procedures
  • Prepare analysis on KPI's and SLO's
  • Review journal entries and accounting classifications in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze financial statements, including balances sheets and statements of financial position
  • Involved in monthly/quarterly close process
  • Reviews documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Coordinate and complete projects across various financial areas
  • Be able to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Monitor and track project statuses, reporting back to Client Executive
  • Be a valued contributor to the Financial Services teams
  • Provide analytical support to the Financial Services and Client Management teams
  • Perform root cause analysis when determining areas of opportunity to improve performance excellence
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets as needed
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple tasks and requests simultaneously, while prioritizing such tasks / requests with daily operations
  • Manage work plans, project tasks, and assignments in accordance with budget
  • Motivates and inspires other team members
