As part of the second line of defense this position is responsible for overseeing the consistent and effective implementation of the Operational Risk Management ORM framework across the various information technology organizations including but not limited to risk and control self assessments key risk indicator monitoring and emerging risk identification. 

This position will facilitate and objectively validate risk assessments with technology subject matter experts including risk identification controls evaluation and action plan development; participate in cross-business unit initiatives to identify and evaluate risk exposures partner with business leaders IT leaders information security leaders operational risk officers and other control functions to identify emerging risks provide professional expertise and advice on IT risk and control issues and associated action plans identify best practices from within their organization and share them with other risk professionals support issues management through governance reporting and validation of issue closure support presentations to business risk committees for IT risk related topics and promote and build an effective risk management culture throughout organization.  

This position may be responsible for the recruitment development and supervision of staff. Roles at this level typically require previous risk controls or information technology experience. Regarded as the technical expert in their particular field. Anticipates business and or regulatory issues recommends technology process or service improvements. Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business. May lead projects with notable risk and complexity.


  • 5 years experience in a technology, information security, technology risk management or IT audit capacity. Experience within financial services, insurance  or management consulting (Big 4 type environment) would be considered particularly desirable.
  • BA or BS Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related degree.
  • Obtained or demonstrates an active pursuit of one or more of the following certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Risk Information System Control, (CRISC) certifications, or other related certifications.
