The Individual Life Insurance Product Strategy Team is seeking a Director, Individual Life Solutions to join our team.  We are a group of strategic, creative and diverse individuals, focused on establishing and executing our ILI product solution strategy with a goal of expanding our market reach to help reduce the underinsurance challenges that exist today. 

This role is focused on identifying and defining new opportunities that will enable us to expand our market reach, leveraging new or existing individual life insurance solutions.  It requires a strategic mindset to define, refine and prioritize solutions to ensure we are spending our time on the most relevant opportunities aligned to our broader business goals.  The individual will be responsible for articulating the strategy, defining the business case and establishing a roadmap focused on iterative deployment and speed-to-market.  It is critical that the person has a consumer-centric mindset and the ability to define opportunities from a holistic and end-to-end perspective.


The position provides the opportunity to operate as one of the champions of non-traditional expansion, helping the organization identify and achieve the goals for success. 

This is a hands-on role where you will work independently while still collaborating with key partners. 

More specifically:  

  • Continually evaluate and refine solution strategies to ensure they drive towards achieving our goals
  • Connect solution strategies to sales, marketing, and operational strategies at the solution, product and initiative level.
  • Identify and prioritize objectives and market value propositions at the solution, product, and initiative level and successfully collaborate with others to execute on the vision.
  • Deploy a strong data analytics focus to inform future product & solution decisions.
  • Present business cases for development of new solutions, including what is needed for success in the areas of services, sales and marketing tools, etc.
  • Maintain a holistic and outward facing view of what is necessary to ensure success for the solutions and all initiatives supporting it. 
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and obstacles preventing optimal sales potential.

  • Bachelors degree
  • MBA or relevant designations preferred (e.g., FSA, MAAA, CLU/ChFC) 
  • 7 years of Financial services experience and a strong understanding of the individual life insurance business preferred
  • Prior experience in product strategy, product management, business strategy and/or market/competitive research
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically to connect a variety of internal and external inputs into a vision and direction
  • Ability to successfully influence and collaborate with professionals at all levels and functions, including senior management and field/sales professionals
  • Proven success of leading others in a matrixed environment
