The Atlanta or remote-based Director, HR Technology, Employee Self-Service is responsible for understanding Cox Automotives business needs and translating those needs into functional global solutions. This role will partner with key stakeholders to understand and set the strategic direction and roadmap for a product set/suite, conduct business analysis, and engage with internal IT teams to establish corresponding technology requirements. In this role you will drive a range of projects, involving business acquisitions, designing system capabilities, workflows, and enhancements supporting all HR ESS systems. You will research and resolve complex issues and work directly with leaders in the business, HR COEs, and CAI IT (technology).

Your primary focus as Director, HR Technology will be on Self Service, Shared Services, Case Management via ServiceNow. In this focus area, you have responsibility to design and drive all mobile self-service strategies and systems for the Cox Automotive People Solutions Operations team. The scope of this role is global. Key responsibilities include:

* Work in partnership with the Employee Service Center (ESC) and our Self-Service team to develop the roadmap for Self Service and Shared Services (including Service Now) systems

* Design strategy and approach to support functional needs and convert those needs into solutions to support and enable HRs service delivery model through self-service and our Employee Service Center. Work with internal IT team for translation of business requirements into technical requirements and delivery of technology solutions.

* Establish roadmap and sequencing for technology installations and functional capabilities and product enhancements, including the migration from on prem to cloud, and supporting mobile adoption.

* Lead programs and multiple large projects; design strategy, develop approach, establish program/project definition in partnership with business or COE sponsors; includes identifying scope, constraints, deliverables, and timelines; leading project implementations, facilitating project status meetings and ensuring status updates are complete.

* Make recommendations regarding the design and development of new and/or modified systems, software and hardware; install new modules/programs; perform testing, system maintenance, training, and problem solving

* Perform best practice analysis to determine the root cause of problems and issues; recommend and implement the best overall solution.

* Act as a subject matter expert, partnering with key business users in all aspects of analysis, design and testing for system integration with HR systems.

* Service as HR functional expert on Self Service, Shared Services and Service Now.

* Develop critical working relationships with COEs and Shared Service leaders and associated functional workstreams to understand enterprise requirements and contribute to application and process improvements.

* Drive and enable manager, employee and HR self-service through strategic use of Service Now case management and portal.

* Lead strategy and development of knowledge bases

* Own relationship with customers and drive input into strategic roadmap for all things HR and Compliance, including but not limited to systems supporting areas tied Shared Services and Self Service,

* Partner with internal IT team for configuration of new or modifying existing applications to meet changing requirements.

* Identify problems; serve as liaison with application vendors on problem resolution, application changes, and new functionality implementation.

* Work with the Training department to develop end user training material for current and new functionality and/or processes.

* Make recommendations for process improvements utilizing existing and new HR technology to improve the effectiveness of Human Resources operations.

* Identify opportunities for improving the effectiveness of HR processes, systems, and reports.

* Assist with review, evaluation, and implementation of revised Human Resources policies and procedures as they relate to HR technology.

* Support communication/change management activities for projects and enhancements based on business needs.

* Identify, remove and resolve key barriers/issues through innovative solutions.

* Continually assess business needs; recommend and implement measures that will ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded by enhancing system capability and performance.

* Create and deliver presentations on specific system-related topics.

* Provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced HRMS staff.


* Bachelors degree in human resources, information technology or a related field or equivalent combination of related professional experience and education

* 10+ years experience with HR technologies

* 5+ experience with Workday/Oracle HCM

* 5+ years of experience Service Now HR Scoped App.

* Advanced knowledge of organizations current technologies and practices

* Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical functional teams

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, customer service orientation

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization

* Strong analytical and time management skills, effectively managing workflow and ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

* Ability to take initiative to identify and anticipate client needs, make recommendations, and implement actions

* Project management experience with the ability to understand project management tools and processes

* Executive presence

* Masters degree in related field a plus

* Compensation includes a base salary of $116,000-$163,500

* Salary may vary outside of the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the postion and the selected candidates experience.
