An outstanding and challenging opportunity as Director, Financial Reporting, is available within the Individual Annuities Finance Team. This role works closely with business leaders and is charged with overseeing the controllership, assessing business profitability, financial reporting and other analysis activities for the Individual Annuities Business.  This position leads the reporting and analysis of quarterly and annual results on both a GAAP and Statutory basis and will support strategic initiatives as well.


The Director position will assume a leadership role and primary responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:


  • Producing insightful financial metrics, analytics, and trends for senior management
  • Developing financial models to quantify financial results, opportunities, and risks
  • Supporting strategic and product development initiatives
  • Partnering with Business and Finance Leaders on financial trends and profitable growth opportunities
  • Lead continuous process enhancements, including implementing additional technology solutions to further improve efficiencies
  • Preparation, coordination and presentation of the Annuities quarterly results review package to senior management
  • Support Investor Relations with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and investors in preparation for the quarterly earnings release
  • Providing support and analysis for Prudential Financials SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings
  • Working closely with key business partners to facilitate the quarterly close
  • Effectively leading and ensuring ongoing development for a team of three

  • Proven ability to analyze data and the underlying drivers of financial results
  • Advanced excel knowledge with proven ability to create and utilize financial models
  • Experience with data visualization tools such Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully analyze, assess, challenge, and influence
  • Highly motivated and creative problem solver; strategic thinker on financial matters
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and succinct way to peers and senior management
  • Strong accounting background with GAAP and Statutory reporting experience in the insurance industry, including understanding of insurance-related actuarial concepts
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. Current or recent public company financial reporting experience is a plus
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships with key business partners to drive execution
  • Collaborative and team-oriented style; able to work independently to drive results
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
