The Prudential Retail RIA Compliance Program supports two RIAs that offer managed products to retail investors.  Prudential Advisors (PA) is the brand name for the investment advisory distribution channel of Pruco Securities LLC.  Prudential Customer Solutions (PCS) offers retail investment advisory accounts through the online Prudential LINK platform. Prudential Advisors offers investment advisory accounts and financial planning services through approximately 3,000 registered reps, of which approximately 1,800 are investment advisor representatives.  PA has approx. $13 Billion in assets under management and the more-recently launched PCS has approx. $8 Million in AUM.

The Retail RIA Compliance Program currently has an opportunity to fill a Compliance Director position supporting the RIA Compliance program for both RIAs. The successful candidate will have responsibility for aspects of both RIA Compliance programs and will play a key leadership role in various initiatives including policy development, monitoring, compliance testing and other compliance control activities relating to the retail RIA business.

  • Set the teams strategy for day-to-day compliance support, testing, monitoring and other compliance control activities relating to the retail investment advisory business;
  • Manage initiatives and project inventory for PA Compliance team
  • Partner with business, insurance compliance, and Broker-dealer compliance peers to keep abreast of business and industry developments and ensure consistency across business lines;
  • Maintain influential relationships with key business unit leaders;
  • Support the Prudential Advisors/PCS Retail RIA Compliance VP in setting and executing on department strategy and initiatives; 
  • Provide guidance to business units on Pruco & PCS policy and regulatory requirements as well as effectively detecting, monitoring and working with the business to resolve compliance related issues;
  • Organize, develop and facilitate training to business management on compliance and regulatory related topics;
  • Develop, enhance and maintain Prucos & PCSs policies and assisting the business in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies & Procedures required under Rule 206(4)-7;



  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years retail investment adviser experience

  • Solid knowledge of fee-based managed products, advisory-related services, and Investment Advisers Act regulatory requirements. Working knowledge of broker-dealer operations and regulatory requirements.

  • Series 65 or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire required

  • Strong developer of talent and strategic thinker with experience leading small teams of experienced professionals

  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal and negotiating skills including the ability to interact with proven ability to manage up and across, and positively influence business leaders

  • Self-motivated with strong drive for results
