This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies as well as software development and operations in cloud environments. To be effective in this role, a candidate must have actual experience building and operating SaaS software in cloud environment. The ideal candidate would have experience building a cloud in addition to building SaaS software on a cloud. This role requires superior management and communication skills both internally and outward facing towards customers. The Operations Director will be the face of Cisco CX both internally and externally. Strong management skills and executive presence are required.

What will you do:

  • The purpose of the Operations Director is to plan, prioritize and run network operations to achieve overall network stability and network KPIs. He/she also has the responsibility to ensure that meaningful guidelines, tools and processes are implemented.
  • Supports in defining, discussing and agreeing the scope of operation services for a particular customer
  • Participates in customer negotiations before and after the operations deal
  • Sets-up a service organization to satisfy the agreed scope with interfaces both to Cisco and the customer
  • Defines, sets up & follows up objectives and direction for the Cisco operating organization
  • Targets at maximum availability of the network, systems, platforms and services
  • Guarantees the agreed Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreement
  • Ensures high standard of workmanship and utilization of identified applicable standard methodologies
  • Makes sure work is carried out in accordance with applicable network Operations procedures
  • Coordinates the availability and use of Network Operations documents and templates
  • Defines, implements and follows up regular customer and internal meetings
  • Plans, drives the operational efficiency and leads resources

Who you are:

  • Relevant telecommunication vertical knowledge and expertise around technology and market trends - aligned to customer business objectives and challenges
  • In-depth knowledge of IT/ Telecommunication based services consumption- ability to engage domain expertise as appropriate
  • IT Domain Knowledge (Engineering, Operations, Data Center, Applications, etc.) - deep domain expertise in 1-2 areas
  • Efficiently navigate Customer landscape to drive mutual success - understand and lead political realities to achieve goals
  • Expertise of IT standards/frameworks (e.g. ITIL, eTOM)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply ITIL processes to delivery teams
  • Detailed understanding of and experience applying all elements of Technical Support to delight customers
  • Ability to formulate and deliver complex presentations throughout Cisco and to customer technical departments
  • Handle an organization of mangers & CSEs of all levels
  • Operational mind-set and disposition
  • Ability to work multi-functionally and cross-corporations.
  • Ability to balance customer, interpersonal, and employee demands.
  • Financial Acumen - understand finance and P&L process and standards
  • Ability to address technical and business issues, establish get well plans, and drive corrective actions.
