What You'll Do

You will lead the newly created Sales Business Operations function in Cisco s Global Collaboration Sales Organization. Your team will be chartered with ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the GCS team to ensure we are building and driving the required sales execution across the collaboration community. As the head of Business Ops, you will manage sales administration, lead business analytics, compensation, forecasting, attainment planning, and sales force enablement. The Sales Ops teams are responsible for building the sustainable infrastructure to ensure sales can execute and attain the required objectives.

Who You'll Work With

Reporting to the VP, Global Collaboration Sales you will drive initiatives focused on growth, sales effectiveness, and productivity. You will analyze business trends and develop executive level insights, strategies, and reports. You will be responsible to define, pilot and implement sales projects in partnership with the BU, the regional Collab leaders, the GCS leadership team and Marketing. You will facilitate the creation of processes, tools, programs, and systems. This role will interact closely with the local sales teams, sales management, and multiple cross-functional teams.

  • All operational components (year-end planning, compensation, personnel management, forecasting, reporting, recognition as examples)
  • Business Optimization
  • Sales Enablement planning and orchestration
  • New Year Readiness and Year-End Planning
  • Forecasting and Readiness
  • Sales Communication

Who You Are

  • You have sales management experience of a direct/ indirect sales team
  • A background in operations - you have experience on deployment of large, complex, critical initiatives with validated results
  • You have skills in finance, project management, sales force design, alignment, compensation, change management
  • You are comfortable engaging with Sr execs, boards, and vast stakeholders. Strong executive presence, interpersonal skills, and ability to influence across disciplines

You have proven experience as a leader and collaborator, able to directly and indirectly influence a major, Fortune 250 sales force. The position requires a customer-first mindset and a strong ability to bring people together from across the company to accomplish a wide range of strategic and operational programs. You can balance critical thinking, detailed planning, and the execution of multiple programs at the same time. You are a strong and effective communicator, manager, and cross-functional leader.

You have:

  • Business degree and 8+ years of related experience. MBA preferred
  • A high degree of creative ability and curiosity, analytical thinking, and general eye for business. Able to interpret analytics into business insights
  • You are able to operate in a dynamic, high-stress environment and handle ambiguity
  • You have validated experience in change leadership & management
  • Ability to work effectively in an independent environment
  • A deep understanding of sales productivity, processes, and systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct customer, vertical, competitive and other market research
  • Craft actionable analysis, content, slide decks, and field communications
  • Lead cross-functional/virtual teams to design and execute major programs; previous people leadership experience
  • Design pilots, track and report on progress, and make implementation recommendation
  • Align with the Americas sales teams to leverage all possible programs and resources
  • Drive key metrics to drive business growth and operational excellence
  • Proficient Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Objects. Understanding of Relational Database and Statistical applications a plus. Background in SFDC
