The Actuarial Centers of Excellence team is seeking an agile coach with SAFe experience who can leverage Agile methodologies, think across business and technology initiatives and provide the necessary coaching and guidance to leadership.  He/she will help drive an agile transformation and will be responsible for coaching and guiding agile teams; advancing their agile maturity.  Using an agile mindset and the appropriate frameworks, the incumbent should help support portfolio operations and help drive the program execution of the work.  He/she will help foster an environment where teams can thrive by fostering decentralized decision making and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ability to manage an agile portfolio of work and help facilitate prioritization workshops

  • Mentor Scrum Masters who will organize and facilitate sprint and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events

  • Develop KPIs and work with business owners to create Leading Indicators

  • Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management

  • Partner with the product owner, agile coaches, scrum teams on user story sizing and acceptance criteria definition, facilitate the definition of minimal viable product, and facilitate continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog

  • Ensure the development teams are embracing and practicing core agile principles

  • Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs

  • Determine and remove all obstacles that may interfere with the ability of the team to deliver assigned goals

  • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution

  • Promote continuous improvement and help teams increase velocity

  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation

  • Provide strategic thinking and tactical execution

  • Manage a team of 3 individuals



  • 5 years experience in an agile / scrum environment
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing large, complex Agile teams in a results-driven environment
  • Strong technical background and familiar with IT terminology
  • Proven experience building strong working relationships and working successfully in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to quickly understand the scope of the project and identify key success and risk factors
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and system documentation tools
  • Ability to communicate, influence and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) required
  • Proficiency in the SAFe framework, SPC preferred
  • Proficiency with JIRA 

  • Prior Actuarial experience a plus
