The Life Projections Capabilities team is a newly created team within the Individual Life Valuation COE. The teams mission is to re-think the life projection process driving insightful analysis and adding business value.  The team is seeking a Director & Actuary who is a self-motivated leader to drive process and modeling enhancements across the various Life Projection uses. This associate will lead a team of actuaries tasked with re-thinking existing processes, driving model improvements and conversions, and enhancing analytics across the team. The focus will be on all Individual Life products across both Stat and GAAP projections, including stress testing and analysis.

The position will provide the associate with the opportunity to collaborate across actuarial and non-actuarial teams, including Valuation, Finance, Treasury, Modeling and Reinsurance.


  • Partner across actuarial, finance and treasury to improve analytics
    • Lead relationships across groups including working together to prioritize and resource projects across teams
  • Develop dashboards and tools to easily monitor, review and share results, leveraging new technologies such as Power BI
    • Pilot new ways of looking at and developing results
    • Drive enhanced analytics across the Valuation and Projections areas
  • Lead development of new model review and analysis
    • Work across ILI to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders including Economic Capital, Asset Adequacy Testing, Statutory Capital and Stat/GAAP Forecasting
    • Streamline UAT process to minimize production time and shift the  focus to analysis

  • College Degree (BA/BS) required
  • FSA preferred
  • Enthusiastic, curious, resourceful and a self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to grasp complex subject matter, provide insightful analysis and develop innovative solutions
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and lead a team
  • Experience with actuarial modeling (GGY-AXIS, ALFA, or other actuarial and financial software) and/or SQL is a plus
  • Experience with process improvement and automations
  • Individual life product knowledge and familiarity with actuarial modeling concepts are desirable
  • 7 years of experience
