TITLE:                  Director & Actuary (The Prudential Insurance Company of America)

 

LOCATION:         Hartford, Connecticut

 

DUTIES:               Lead team to perform asset and liability projections, including producing results and analyses for Asset Adequacy Testing (AAT), Risk based capital (RBC), and Deterministic Stress Test (DST) for Individual Life and Group Insurance business. Maintain and enhance projection capabilities for Replicating Portfolio (RP) and Stress Testing such as Insurance Risk-Adjusted Capital (InsRAC) and Liquidity Stress Test (LST). Assist and perform annual assumption updates and impact analyses. Support the definition of functional specs and test plans for PBR model requirements and other model conversions. Engage in projects to support business initiatives and modeling/methodology improvements. Test and validate modeling changes and ensure reasonability of overall model results. Identify process improvement opportunities and develop more robust analytics capabilities for insightful analysis. Enhance ALM model and projection capabilities to comply with enterprise and regulatory standards. Collaborate with assumptions and modeling on evolving regulatory framework and strategic initiatives. REQTS:                 Must have Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered, as a Manager, Senior Actuarial Consultant, Associate Risk Manager, Actuarial Consultant, or a related position. Must have seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience with all of the following: Actuarial modeling software including GGY AXIS and MG-ALFA; VBA macros to automate processes; Excel, VBA, and SQL to analyze large amounts of data; Life products and regulations; Assisting and performing annual assumption updates and impact analyses; Model risk management and creation of audit control; Managing regulators reporting requirements; Implementing and maintaining effective financial reporting processes and controls; Organizing and preparing materials and presentations for risk committee and senior management; and Working on planning, development, and implementation required for strategic business initiatives. Must hold FSA designation.

 

HOURS:                Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
