The Director of Residential Services provides overall leadership of the daily operations of the residential program, oversees staffing, scheduling, clinical program implementation and FTE management, develops, coordinates, and manages the program schedule and conducts performance improvement activities to achieve benchmarks for clinical indicators. Additionally, facilitates training and staff development, with an emphasis on high quality residential care delivered in a cost- effective manner. Under direct supervision of the CEO, key responsibilities include:

  • .Assures the implementation of a quality treatment plan for each resident.
  • Assists in providing safe delivery of care to meet the goals and objectives of each residents plan of care.
  • Responds to crisis situations and manages resident behaviors in accordance with the Behavioral Management Program.
  • Assists with the unit milieu to guide the development of acceptable habits and attitudes by consistently and fairly implementing the behavioral program, emphasizing good choices, and positive interactions.
  • Completes documentation regarding supervision and implementation of our behavioral, cognitive-behavioral and trauma-informed methodology.
  • Assists the Education Directors in provision of instruction and training in classrooms.
  • Facilitates, attends and participates in all scheduled meetings and trainings.
  • Consistently follows the program activity schedule and implements all safety and security procedures.
  • Serve as a role model for residents.
  • Close collaboration and cross-coverage for the Clinical Program Director.
  • Oversees staff scheduling and FTE management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Must have good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and units as necessary, and ability to maintain residents confidentiality. Knowledge of principles of psychology and child growth and development are useful. Limit-setting, responding to children and adolescents in a caring, mature manner, while maintaining professional boundaries necessary. Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to utilize basic office software applications as well as our electronic medical record.


A minimum degree at the Master Level in Counseling, Psychology, Family Therapy or Social work. Licensure preferred, but could be substituted for experience.


Five or more years direct care experience with children and adolescents in a residential or acute setting.

Licensure/ Certification:

Must maintain valid CPR and HWC certification. LPC, LCSW, LP, LMFT license preferred.
