What You'll Do

We are looking for a Development Support Engineer to extend our Technical Support team located in San Jose, CA. As a Support Engineer you will assist our customers in the use of our products. This requires an analytical approach to problem solving, a detailed understanding of software engineering processes, and testing in a Linux environment. You will answer our customers questions, recreate their problem scenarios, find workarounds, and work with our engineering teams to pinpoint problems and solutions


Who You'll Work With

With This position will be a part of the Software Support team within Cisco NSO and ConfD engineering group. You will be part of a talented team of software engineers that love helping customers using our products. The team is divided between Stockholm and San Jose, where we work very closely with the engineering development and product release teams to better serve our customers.


Who You Are

You need software development experience and should also be engaged in next generation networking technologies. You are passionate about helping customers & partners to help them use and deploy our network management and orchestration products. You will gain deep technical knowledge in using and inner workings of our product lines and will act as a technical contact point between the Technical Services CX centers worldwide and our own engineering teams. You are probably a software engineer with a Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science and previous experience working in a software development or technical support role. This position requires
        3+ years of experience in software development and product support within the telecom and IP domain
        Experience with a variety of programming languages such as C, Java, python, Erlang knowledge is a plus (but not required)
        Unix/Linux system experience, including experience with: Make, compiling and customizing a Linux installation, shell scripts
        Understanding of data modeling concepts (preferably with YANG)
        Network management knowledge
