What You'll Do

Help us build and spread Data Security, Privacy, and Access Management expertise within Cisco's Supply Chain Organization. The Supply Chain Data Security, Privacy, and Access Architect will assist with the implementation and management of the data privacy, data security, and access management strategy and the development and roll-out of policies, guidelines, and data security and access awareness training. Moreover, will identify and manage risks related to data privacy and security, and call out risks and issues to executives, as needed. The person will coordinate and provide oversight of activities in relation to the following:

  • Intellectual Assets / IP program: Completion of activities related to Cisco IP management:
  • Partnership with Engineering team inclusion of SCO in the leadership and working team mtgs to ensure alignment of data classification alignment within Cisco org and communication of impact on SCO (internal and partners); consistent IP transfer methods within Cisco groups, security improvement in Agile PLM
  • Modification of controls in Master Security Specifications (MSS) related to Intellectual Property (IP) and optimization of auditing process of IP related controls, including changes required for access management, encryption, red badge access, and mitigating future risks from lessons learned
  • Deep assessment of security posture of specific partners related to IP Security and associated remediation. Partners are EMS, PCBA suppliers, ASIC Suppliers, Optical Supplier w/IP, Component Business Model
  • Assessment of security requirement for test files (diagnostics)
  • Assessment of gaps in the IP Security of SW, Cloud and on-prem applications
  • Identity and Access Mgmt:
  • Provide support for new partner onboarding to Federated Identity as needed
  • Engage with IT / Security & Trust Org on strategy and execution of access mgmt.
  • Implement and deploy cloud-based Identity and Access Management (IAM) full-stack solutions and drive migration from current tools to Sailpoint/Okta.
  • Circular Economy: Data sanitization of returned products. Understanding requirements and addition into Master Security Specifications (MSS)
  • Data Privacy: Work with Security & Trust Org including survey/assessment and provide recommendations
  • Review controls implemented by the business to inform, advise and issue recommendations to the business with regards to data Security, privacy, and compliance, including with data security laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and internal policies and guidelines
  • Support Cisco Data Privacy Office Group in the communication and as a point of contact for both data subjects: customers and the regulatory authorities. Advise Data Owners (controllers/ processors) and Cisco Data Privacy Officers regarding data Security and privacy management requirements and policies
  • Data Security compliance:
  • Know the latest legislation and impact on SCO. Provide new requirement for MSS update when required
  • Offer consultation once a data breach or other incident has occurred and must be involved in relevant issues in a timely manner and report directly to the highest management level
  • Implement essential elements of the data security - principles of data processing, data subjects rights, data security by design and by default, security, data breaches management
  • Security Awareness & Training:
  • Foster a data security culture within the Supply Chain Function
  • Promote continuous training to maintain data security awareness and feedback, and also include security as part of the agenda
  • Attend regular/ ongoing data Security, information security, and privacy training

Who You'll Work With

The Supply Chain Transformation Data and Analytics small central team is entrusted with accelerating the data and analytics practices and maturity within Cisco Supply Chain to enable innovation, operational excellence while safeguarding brand security. The team has responsibilities for data analytics, data science, and advanced analytics as well as data engineering, master data management, data architecture, data governance, access management, data security, and privacy.

Who You Are

You are a domain specialist in Data Governance and Identity and Access Management. You possess Data Security and Privacy and Information Security experience or are willing to learn. You are continuously learning in the area will keep our global teams to stay abreast of new capabilities and technology impacting our industry.

  • Require BA/BS plus 7+ years Data Security & Privacy, Identity and Access Management, Data Governance or IT or Supply Chain operations. MS degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience in communicating effectively with the highest levels of management and decision-making individuals within the organization.
  • Self-starter, demonstrable ability to work independently on multiple projects and priorities at once. Ability to lead by influence without direct reporting chain and advise executive decision-makers and generate and present strategy, roadmaps, and performance dashboards to varying audiences
  • Team-player such that focus on the success of the team. Working well both with others, as well as individually, in a multicultural and multidisciplinary context
  • Ability to think quickly, respond to changing demands, anticipate future problems, and recommend preventive courses of action.
  • Able to optimally work multi-functionally in global, high energy, dynamic environment
  • Solid understanding of Data Governance & Data Security. Data privacy, data security and information security certifications such as CISM, CISSP, etc. (a plus).
  • Previous experience and expertise in national and transactional data privacy laws (such as GDPR, CCPA), regulations and practices as well as in promoting a data privacy culture of awareness and understanding (preferably within a High-tech/Manufacturing Industry). Experience in developing and accessing the privacy policies and controls as well as responding to potential privacy incidents, to mitigate risk, determine reporting requirements, and developing corrective action plans when needed
  • Understanding of cross over between legal, IT, and data security requirements.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional activities/projects and inspire changes, drive remediation plans for physical and logical data Security and privacy with strategic and tactical insights.
