Ciscos CX Americas team is hiring a Data Scientist to accelerate predictive modeling and analytics in Cross-Domain solutions. The vision for the team is to leverage the best in class analytics products to define and accelerate delivery of solutions to drive growth and customer adoption, while also looking to the future for fee-based analytics products for our customers.

Our mission is to define some best practices and help to develop new software solutions using Data Analytics, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The size, diversity, and richness of our Customers data are simply unmatched.

As a Data Scientist you will craft the overall future of CX customer-facing analytics and insights, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams. You will make an impact while solving meaningful problems and crafting new design patterns and paradigms. Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate as part of the Technology and Transformation Cross-Domain team to define and deliver best practices for analytics solutions in cross domain projects.

Synthesize customers business needs and create models to describe the requirements

Work closely with account teams and customer'scustomers to understand and validate uUse Ccases like, Cisco Mobility Network Analytics, 5G Network Slicing, Network and Assurance and expand to other domains like Enterprise Datacenter

Partner closely with data engineers and architects to craft and deliver scalable data models

Develop and deliver data-driven insights and recommendations for our stakeholders

Create thoughtful and well-structured concept models and prototypes

Work cross-functionality on executing our analytics services roadmap

Partner with CX Product Management and delivery teams to ensure a scaled offer is proven for the Americas market.

Who You Are

You have experience with identifying a business problem and solving it through data driven insights.

You have experience in building requirements to improve data gathering for analytics purposes.

You have experience to Perform, Support and Lead all aspects of Functional Data Engineering strategy, Data Integration and Reporting, and building the Data Visualization(s).

You are highly motivated, a self-starter, willing to continually learn new solutions, platforms, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.


An agile, pragmatic, and hardworking engineer with hands-on experience in providing simple and intuitive visualization of complex and intricate datasets for web and mobile applications. You love technology, innovation, and building products at scale.

You hold a Ph.D. or M.S. in computer science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or other data-science related field. You can demonstrate a strong track record in the following areas:

Strong knowledge (5-10 years) of a variety of machine learning & Statistics techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

Ability to explore large datasets and find key descriptive and inferential properties in large and diverse datasets. Identify patterns and interactions in the

data, and to clearly articulate impact of such data properties on proposed use cases

Strong programming skills in Python/R, with an ability to manipulate large and complex datasets using distributed computing technologies (e.g., Apache Spark)

Strong working experience developing classification and regression models on large datasets, leveraging skills: Regression (Linear, Decision Tree ) / Classification / NLP / DL NN / AutoML / RNN LSTM / Clustering / PCA / Filter Methods / Wrapper Methods / Hyper Parameter Search / Cross Validation / Multivariate Time Series Analysis / Trend Analysis / Anomaly Detection

Experience with DB: TimeScale / Postgres / NoSQL / Mongo

Experience with notebooks like Jupyter / Google Collab / Kaggle

Experience with CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture)

Experience building ETL workflows and leveraging datasets from multiple source systems

Excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills; experience working with other mathematicians, scientists, or engineers is required

Excellent English spoken and written skills is required

Good written and verbal communication skills, and comfortable presenting findings to exec level audience and translating data into understandable documents.


Should have experience in storytelling with data in form of visuals

Certification in Machine Learning / Data Engineering / Data Science is a plus.

Domain knowledge of data systems Services and Telemetry is preferred.

Software development methodologies (agile/scrum) and tools (unit and system testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines

Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.

Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot, etc.

Familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset.
