PepsiCo Data Product Management Overview: The team is tasked with the articulation of the vision, execution and implementation of PEPs next-generation global data infrastructure. The projects will manifest as platforms that enable all sections as well as specific business solutions within the sector. Position Overview: The position of Product Manager, Data Foundation will play a crucial role to hire and manage the team which will drive the vision, requirements and roadmap of the data infrastructure necessary to power PepsiCos global data products. The leader will be equally adroit at hands-on product management work as the team will need to be established (in addition to managerial duties). The scope will include all aspects of data cloud infrastructure including pipelines, data storage, distributed computing, ML platforms, analytics solutions, clean room environments, etc. Along with horizontal enablement, the leader will be experienced at grounding the work in use cases which provide business value as the platform solutions emerge. This will be the most senior role reporting to the SVP of Global Data Product Management and has been identified as the most essential to the success of the team and program given the role will be an enabler for other functions. Key Accountabilities: Own the vision, roadmap and product delivery for PepsiCos global data infrastructure. Proactively communicate roadmap, milestones and outcomes for all data platform deliverables to a global audience or partners and stakeholders. Work directly with fellow product management teams and business leaders to ensure the platform unlocks optimal business value across both short and long-term objectives. Model the value of data solutions in business terms and track delivery against associated KPIs. Identify opportunities to use data as a source of competitive advantage for PepsiCo. Bring forward-thinking leadership to PepsiCo and stay up to date with progress made within academic and industry forums. Drive the implementation of models into production in partnership with internal data engineering teams. Develop frameworks to promote and accelerate continuous improvement and work toward scaled solutions. Qualifications/Requirements Minimum 15+ years of technical product management experience creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment. Experience recruiting, hiring and developing product management teams and talent and an ability to express quantitative outcomes delivered by the team. Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience; preferably hands on work as a data engineer. Business curiosity as expressed via an MBA or related work experience. Experience with high-volume data infrastructure (ETL, pipelines, storage, access) and open source technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Presto or similar in environment with internet scale.Skills, Abilities, Knowledge: Nexus of communication and planning between business leaders, data scientists and engineers. Ability to lead each of these audiences with confidence and authority. Ability to drive teams toward a shared vision with velocity and possess an indomitable bias toward action in the face of ambiguity. Bold. High tolerance for risk; low fear of failure. Equal ability to understand and influence business priorities as well as technical architecture. Ability to prioritize competing data initiatives and communicate with precision. Work with talented data science and data engineering teams in a fast paced, agile development process. Unlock data access for a variety of technical and non-technical teams. Experience driving large cross-organizational projects with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to cater messages to audience including all levels of the organization (from executives to software engineers at implementation level). Comfortable defining and owning the accountability related to a portfolio of work which contains both incremental gains and game-changing big bets. Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners. Ability to lead others without direct authority in a matrixed environment.
