Auto req ID: 239921BR Job Description PepsiCo Data Governance Program Overview: PepsiCo is establishing a Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data. Enabling this program will: Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughoutPepsiCos systems Create global alignment for data privacy and protection standards Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations Position Overview: The Data Governance, Privacy Lead owns the strategic design of privacy policy for Data + Analytics globally. This role is responsible for representing the Data + Analytics strategic vision across all PepsiCo sectors and functions to define enterprise data privacy policies, rules, processes, and standards to ensure compliance with any applicable data privacy and protection regulations. This role requires deep knowledge of data monitoring and verification best practices, rights management, privacy laws, and change management. The Data Privacy Lead will develop a global data privacy framework and engagement model that will be the foundation of the program. The Data Privacy Lead will manage a global team of data privacy specialists. They will partner with the Data Stewardship and Data Governance teams to ensure global standards are aligned and upheld. They will liaise with IT and Legal/Compliance teams to maintain alignment on new regulations and initiatives and will be responsible for implementing and executing global PepsiCo data privacy and protection strategy. This includes establishing the global privacy framework, defining key roles and responsibilities, and building applicable metrics and KPIs. Primary Accountabilities: Lead internal privacy assessments and establish a global data privacy framework Create and own D+A privacy policies and drive global adoption Manage a global team of data privacy specialists Lead assessment of consumer data privacy, identify gaps and build a global solution Research and navigate important privacy issues with stakeholders, providing technical, project management support and policy advice at senior government and management levels for high-level projects and policies. Ensure standards are applied by all the stakeholders. Prevent or resolve conflicts by facilitating discussions across appropriate business units Provide feedback on documents with Legal and Compliance teams to endure Data + Analytics policy is incorporated (legal experience a plus) Communicate regularly with Legal and Compliance to implement and adapt to new policies Stay abreast of external laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) Identify risks and controls related to enterprise data security changes Work with Data Ecosystem team to create policies and standards for external data storage and usage and ensure adherence Provide recommendations and supporting documentation for new or proposed data standards, business rules and policy (in conjunction with the Governance Council as appropriate) Coordinate across the organization (with fellow Enterprise Data Stewards and the EDG leader; strategic initiatives, Digital Use Cases and the federated data network) in order to maintain consistency of PepsiCo's critical enterprise, digital, operational and analytical data Accountable for ensuring that data-centric activities are aligned with the EDG program and leverage applicable data standards, governance processes, and overall best practicesEnterprise Data Privacy Operations and Advisory: Lead the alignment of the data privacy processes and standards with applicable enterprise, business segment, and local data support models Direct enterprise privacy assessments to identify and review gaps Maintain the single set of global privacy standards and monitors compliance throughout the PepsiCo organization Manage multiple domain perspectives in defining and continually evolving the roadmap for data privacy efforts based upon strategic business objectives, existing capabilities/programs, cultural considerations and a general understanding of emerging technologies and governance models/techniques Advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure that any data privacy or security identified, communicated and managed to ensure adherence with the Enterprise Data Governance established standards Qualifications/Requirements 12+ years of experience working in Data Privacy or Data Security and Compliance within a global organization (CPG or Financial institution) 10+ years of experience working with data, data maintenance, associated elements/processes, involved systems and interdependent data 7+ years of experience creating/driving data privacy strategy Experience working with GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and other applicable state and federal privacy regulations Knowledge of Data Governance and Privacy Tools a plus Experience working with Consumer data and privacy requirements Deep knowledge of legal risk and remediation efforts in data compliance CIPP, CIPT or other security-related certifications a plus Ability to partner with the legal, business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance and privacy policies and procedures are defined and implemented.Competencies: Strong knowledge and understanding of regulations for acquiring, storing, and using data in the US and abroad Ability to understand and measure legal ramifications of data compliance gaps Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability to foster lasting partnerships Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements Ability to think beyond their current state (processes, roles and tools) and work towards an unconstrained, optimized design An ability to solicit followership from the functional teams to think beyond the way the things work today Able to align various stakeholders to a common set of standards and the ability to sell the benefits of the EDG program Foster lasting relationships across varying organizational levels and business segments with the maturity to interface with all levels of management Self-starter who welcomes responsibility, along with the ability to thrive in an evolving organization and an ability to bring structure to unstructured situations Ability to arbitrate on difficult decisions and drive consensus through a diplomatic approach Matrix management skills and business acumen Excellent written & verbal communication skills Relocation Eligible: Eligible for Standard Relocation Job Type: Regular All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
