Team Description

The Cloud Infrastructure and Software Platform & Solutions sales team leads the Sales GTM, global sales strategy, new sales programs and sales enablement for our platforms, software & solutions.  The Platform & Solutions Sales team works with the DC sales teams, direct sales teams and across the key cross functional groups to drive data center platforms software & solutions globally with our customers and partners.  The team drives sales awareness & prioritization across Cisco DC platforms & solutions.  This team leads discussions, being a catalyst for growth and providing thought leadership for the specialist and direct sales teams.  The Sales BDM position is a great chance to apply your sales skills and experience working with a world-class technology, sales team, customers, channel partners and key technology partners in a role with high visibility, impact and growth potential.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Sr. Sales leader/sales evangelist & catalyst focused on driving key platforms, platform roadmap, solutions with the global sales teams for a multi-billion dollar business
  • Translate Cisco Data Center compute technology into innovative sales message, journeys, programs and plays that align to customers business needs
  • Drive our platform & solutions revenue, pipeline and demand
  • Enable the Cisco sales team with both high touch and scale sales plans, messaging, sales journeys, offers, key sales collaterals, training, and competitive sales analysis
  • Provide strategic account support for Cisco sales team, technology & channel partners and customers
  • Report on market conditions & trends, new customer requirements and competitive impacts to sales strategies to influence Cisco Business Entities strategies and roadmaps

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in high-technology or Data Center industry, specifically with compute platforms or software sales experience
  • BA/BS required preferably with a concentration in business, software and/or information management
  • Successful track record working with geographically dispersed sales teams
  • Strong domain expertise with multi-cloud, compute platform, software and Data Center technologies
  • Strong understanding of Ciscos Data Center, cloud and compute and other relevant technologies  
  • Significant GTM experience driving/leading cross functional teams and sales programs:  sales, partners, strategy, solutions marketing and business unit (both outbound and inbound)
  • Ability to model and influence investment decisions for new platforms and solutions
  • Ability to work virtually as well as travel both domestically and internationally

 

Desired Skills

  • Self-starter than can help drive, monetize, accelerate, incubate and scale compute platforms, multi-cloud & solutions
  • Ability to position & differentiate Cisco Data Center technology into innovative solutions, journeys and sales plays
  • Strong influence and presentation skills interfacing with stakeholders at all levels, including senior level audiences  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to forecast responsible areas including blade, rack and specialty platforms
  • Excellent business acumen to be able to effectively show how Cisco can translate into business benefits, meet customer challenges and demonstrate significant benefits for customers & partners
  • Strong aptitude for teamwork, communication and ability to handle multiple initiatives across different geographies, customers, partners and cross functional teams
  • Ability to drive cross architectural & multi-cloud strategy around Cloud Infrastructure, Software & Data Center Solutions

Proven track record in driving cross-functional collaboration & team building in a matrixed environment
