Responsibilities

The Cyber System Engineer deploys and maintains cyber security tools within our clients environments. Conduct routinely scheduled vulnerability assessments on all client operations center and TIC assets. Work alongside the federal lead or federal Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) in ensuring all system vulnerabilities are reported and migrated and support preparation for audits as required. Operate, maintain, and administer existing security tools installed within the TIC and client network, assist with installation of new security tools into the infrastructure. Conduct preventative and scheduled maintenance for security tools to include but not be limited to release management, upgrades / patches / change packages (enhancement /fixes), and problem reports; and maintain documentation with updates to system configuration completing required changes and fixes. Monitor, maintain and report on security systems performance; and conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting and root cause analysis and benchmarking in accordance with established procedures. Support research and security classification verification activities of incident discovered on the client infrastructures. Provide support for requirements definition and customer clarity during the planning and design phases of new requirements - create engineering packages with required documentation for security systems deployments to be used by administrators implementing the solution. Maintain documentation with updates to system configuration made completing required changes and fixes including security architecture diagrams and security tools administration documentation; and develop and maintain SOPs as required.

Qualifications

Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.

or equivalent training, education, and work experience
Minimum of Five (5) years of Cyber Systems Engineering experience
Minimum of Five (5) years of experience working with Splunk and large repository environments. At least Five (5) years of experience working with hardware and network related services operating at layers 1 3 of the OSI
Experience working with the some or all of the following technologies: Snort, Splunk, ArcSight, Fireye, Lancope-StealthWatch Security & Netflow management systems, Security Center 4, SolarWinds Orion, SAManalysis
