Cyber Security Incident Response Handler

The Incident Response (IR) Handler is a key member of the PepsiCo Cyber Fusion Center (CFC) responsible for analyzing, triaging, scoping, containing, providing guidance for remediation, and determining the root cause of security incidents. The Incident Response Handler uses data analysis, threat intelligence, and cutting-edge security technologies.

In this role you will:

  • Provide expertise on incident response, forensic and malware analysis
  • Develop, document, and Implement run books, capabilities, and techniques for IR
  • Perform triage and analysis on workstations, servers and network infrastructure
  • Identify and analyze malware using live forensics, hard drive forensics, sandboxes and reverse engineering
  • Identify indicators of compromise and apply them to the incident response process
  • Perform activities necessary for immediate containment and short-term resolution of incidents
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of the threat landscape, emerging security threats, and vulnerabilities
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Coordinate and drive efforts during response activities and post-mortem
  • Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation when required
  • Determine root cause of complex information security incidents

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, related discipline or relevant work experience
  • Relevant Technical Security Certifications (GIAC, EC-Council, Offensive Security, etc.)
Experience:
  • 6+ years overall IT Infrastructure experience
  • 4+ years of recent operational security experience (SOC, Incident Response, Malware Analysis, IDS/IPS Analysis, etc.)
  • Experience performing the role of a technical lead in complex global security projects
  • Experience in OT/Manufacturing desired
Skills:
  • In depth knowledge of Linux/UNIX & Windows operating systems
  • Experience with intrusion detection and prevention tools
  • Familiarity with SIEM: search techniques, alerts, dashboards, and report building
  • Detailed understanding of the TCP/IP networking stack & network technologies
  • Working knowledge of full packet analysis
  • Understanding of regular expressions and at least one common scripting language
  • An ability to work extremely well under pressure
  • Strong collaborative skills and proven ability to work in a diverse global team of security professionals
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and mentoring skills
