Qualifications

RMF, DIACAP, NIST Certification & Accreditation, with experience utilizing DoD approved cybersecurity monitoring solutions and tools (i.e., ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, STIG Viewer, Vulnerator, and Remedy), as well as experience in one or more of the following technologies:
  • UNIX Operating System
  • RHEL Operating System
  • Windows Operating Systems
  • SQL and Oracle Databases
  • CISCO IOS

Desired Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with 4+ years of relevant experience and a technical emphasis in Information Assurance/Cyber Security, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Desired Certifications:
  • Maintaining or actively pursuing a common DoD 8570 certification in IAT or IAM focused certification (Sec+, CAP, CYSA+, CEH, CISM, CISSP, GIAC, etc.) or higher-education Degree with focus on Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

ITCC II Cyber Security Engineering (CSE) team members are responsible for providing Cyber Security support to USSTRATCOM operations and various organizational functions through cyber security analysis of systems and artifacts. CSE team members also review ITCC II technical solutions to aid in development of consistent mitigation strategies for all system vulnerabilities delivering cradle to grave security strategies.

Ensures the implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), through the required government policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities. Document the results of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities and coordination activity to support System Security Plans (SSP) and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).

The Cyber Security Engineer (CSE) provides support to the customer in the area of Cyber Security. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
  • Review project requirements to identify potential security vulnerabilities during all phases of development in accordance with DoD, NIST, USCYBERCOM and USSTRATCOM guidance
  • Use network analysis tools to perform vulnerability correlation, prioritization, and remediation of findings discovered in scans and vendor bulletins supporting Vulnerability Management Program
  • Develop, maintain, and track reports that identify technical and procedural findings to facilitate recommended remediation strategies/solutions through POA&Ms and RMF workflow process.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), cyber defense policies, regulations, and compliance documents related to cyber defense auditing
  • Proactively monitor vendor and DoD Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs) and Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analyses to support A&A activities
  • Assist in development and assessment of targeted metrics to assess security postures
  • Create and route A&A workflow packages to ensure accreditation documentation meets requirements to support CTO, Security Change Request (SCR), Interim Authority to Test (IATT), and Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • DoD Top Secret Security/SCI Clearance Required
