Responsibilities

  • The Cyber Security Architect/Engineer (Vulnerability Management) is responsible for using and applying technical standards, principles and theories to perform activities to install, configure, maintain, and manage security devices to include but is not limited to Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)/Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), ArcSight Enterprise Security Manager (ACAS) and associated Virtual Private Network (VPN) equipment/configurations.
  • Develops and documents sensor processes and checklists.
  • Responsible for developing methods to detect and prevent intrusive activities and assists with countermeasures, such as IDS/IPS signature development and correlation rule sets, development to isolate, contain, and prevent intrusive activities and secure networks.
  • Responsible for monitoring enterprise network traffic to determine system vulnerabilities and required fixes.
  • Applies established network security procedures, logs and makes recommendation for correcting network security incidents. Responsible for coordinating the escalation of security issues requiring detailed analysis.
  • Performs patching of Red Hat Linux / Nessus scanner and Tenable Security Center applications and provides reports and metrics during contingency operations. Supports network defense and cybersecurity operations and exercises.
  • Develops methods to detect and prevent intrusive activities and assists in developing countermeasures to isolate, contain, and prevent intrusive activities. Provides advanced traffic, incident response and vulnerability analysis and security device maintenance.
  • Manages and maintains control of network intrusion detection systems.
  • Responsible for network and information technology systems end-to-end operations to provide intrusion detection and vulnerability assessments.
  • Provides general IT management support, general networking, Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) enterprise, CONUS and OCONUS deployment andTDY travel, functional training, technical and general O&M, documentation and reports, and meetings/briefings to support Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) operations.

Qualifications

  • Associates in related field and 3 or more years experience; OR 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Firewall and ACAS experience
  • CEH
  • MCSA, Network+ CE, Firewall, ACAS, and ITIL Foundation
