What You'll Do

This position is for a Project Manager who is responsible for Transaction and Subscription Projects whose lifecycle can span weeks or years. The Project Manager will manage the execution of network technology consulting projects for Cisco strategic accounts, with focus in areas such as network migration, design, and transformation. The Project Manager will provide leadership to diverse and talented project teams during the execution phase of consulting projects in all technologies with focus often around Data Center, Security, Wireless, Collaboration, and/or Route/Switch. The position requires customer obsession with extensive partnership with clients to understand business objectives, delivery execution, and management of projects to ensure quality, within scope, on-time, on-budget completion. Resource may be responsible for multiple, concurrent, large-scale Enterprise projects.  Customers will be geographically dispersed throughout the US and some travel may be required. Responsibilities include:

  • Creation of a project schedule and plan with financial, resource and material requirements
  • Directing project staff, including project engineers, vendors, partners or subcontractors
  • Managing project(s) from start to completion, including the resolution of escalated project issues
  • Accountability for the Project Budget
  • Demonstrate excellent communications capabilities, business acumen and resource management without functional authority
  • Presentation of CX Customer Delivery business value to customers for new or existing business
  • Influencing the customer in the assessment, planning, and management of complex technical implementation projects
  • Developing and presenting proposals, and negotiating final agreements
  • Supporting business development for new customers/markets/services
  • Leadership and participation in the Project/Program Management Community to further develop the role, processes and operational procedures

  Who You'll Work With

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field, MBA or Masters degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a project or program manager
  • PMP Certification
  • Exceptional Project Management Skills including scheduling, financial reporting, performance reporting, communications, issues/risks/actions management, procurement management and other key PM skill-sets
  • Experience with navigating various environments where culture and structure varies within the organization with political navigation skills
  • Very proficient in the following software tools: Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

       Basic knowledge of routing, routing protocols, switching, internet and sound knowledge of general network architecture

  • Experience deploying technologies in a customer environment. Experience with Cisco technologies preferred. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with large project teams and strategic accounts
  • Excellent negotiation, and written & oral communication skills.
  • ITIL Certification a Plus
  • Agile Training a Plus
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%
