Within CX, Program Managers are responsible for making amazing things happen with customers. Our development teams make world class products and our CX project managers guide those new technology into our customers production environments.

Program Managers work with many stakeholders inside Cisco and with our clients - highly technical engineers and architects, leaders and executives, finance and business operations.

Who You Are

You are passionate about creating and leading cross-functional teams in a high-stakes environment. You are a certified project or program manager who invests in keeping your skills up to date. You are experienced in managing program scope and budget.

Key responsibilities are listed as follows:

  • Leads and manages end-to-end project and program delivery against contractual requirements and revenue and profitability targets while maintaining an excellent customer experience
  • Ensures proper scope and change management processes are adhered to, manages change management handling between customer, partner & account teams
  • Identifies project and program staffing requirements, drives staffing across Cisco CX functions and coordinates project stake-holders to drive delivery excellence within target cost, schedule, and quality
  • Owns accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting on project costs and revenues
  • Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with stake-holders (Customer, Sales, Services, Business Units, Executives, etc.)
  • Ensures the capture of lessons learned and findings to share and apply within the PM community
  • Communicates effectively with executives and stake-holders(s) to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies
  • Identifies further growth opportunities within customer environment and engages with sales partners for pursuit; as opportunities warrant, support scoping, cost modeling and margin analysis
  • Elicits stakeholder feedback to appropriately gauge satisfaction and direction
  • Demonstrates ability in legal contract issues
  • Reviews scope of work and guides the bid pursuit team to adapt terms and conditions to Ciscos best interests to maximize revenue recognition and minimize risk
  • Creates and manages project and program plans

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, or Technology
  • Professional PMI certification PMP or equivalent
  •  8-10 years of experience in managing and leading large complex projects and programs
  • Works effectively and efficiently in a highly matrixed environment
  • Excellent stake-holder management, high personal impact, ability to work externally with customers and within Cisco organization to align priorities, resources, and handle conflict between stake-holders
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Strong understanding of program and project management fundamentals
  • Strong project and program financial knowledge

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Cisco technologies
  • Understanding of Software development lifecycle and delivery methodology, including Agile based PM frameworks, SAFe
  • Strong negotiation skills: Reaches mutually satisfactory agreements by focusing on interests rather than positions. Includes active listening, interpersonal skills and careful preparation
