Global Clinical Supply (GCS) manages the execution of supply chain strategies to deliver Investigational Medicinal Product to patients involved in Pfizer's clinical research trials across the globe. The Clinical Supply Logistics Distribution Support staff is responsible for the support of inventory management and distribution activities related to the execution of clinical trials. This role interacts with external vendors, study teams and other customer business units associated with the implementation of IRT and/or distribution strategies.


+ Manage receiving activities at core vendor warehouses and distribution depots by conducting meetings with vendor receiving staff and tracking activities

+ Populate data into the applicable inventory and tracking systems

+ Ensure documentation related to transfers and vendor receipts are complete and uploaded to global document management system

+ Reconcile inventory with vendor inventory systems, and make adjustments as needed

+ Periodically review expiry of inventory at all locations, authorizing destruction when expiry date is reached

+ Proactively monitor and maintain group email boxes and ensure the proper use of global document management system

+ Complete documentation to transfer global components from warehouse to vendor packaging sites

+ Create lot numbers in applicable inventory system for initial receipts

+ Process bulk shipments of materials for Investigator Initiated Research, Clinical Research Units, and sample requests

+ Ensure timely release of materials in partnership with appropriate distribution and quality representatives

+ Create material ID's in applicable inventory system and follow through to approval

+ Manage distribution issues for in-route shipments and track progress

+ Track orders to point of signature at delivery and notify related groups of potential obstacles

+ Follow up with study teams and outside vendors to resolve any issues that may arise

+ Raise clinical and development shipments to support study teams.

+ Provide support and guidance for shipments processed at internal warehouses

+ Provide backup support for Distribution and Import/Export and take action on urgent requests

+ Process transfers to in-country depots and interface with Quality for transfer release

+ Process xIRT debits out of clinical supplies distribution system in line with approval from Distribution Specialist

+ Track vendor payments against Purchase Orders, resolving as needed

+ Coordinate study close and inventory destruction activities

+ Prepare documentation and review for importation

+ Track order progress against customs and regulatory release status

+ Raise orders for VAT/Duties

+ Document issues and resolutions using designated incident tracking tools

+ Continuously improve understanding of business and client processes

+ Participate in quality investigations, audits & inspections as needed

+ Create and implement team training materials &/or tools


+ Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a similar role in the Pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a clinical supply chain setting

+ Degree in a Technical, Scientific or Business field preferred

+ Knowledge and experience working in a GMP / GCP environment

+ Experience reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

+ Experience conducting or participating in root cause analysis

+ Comfortable preparing and presenting ideas and information in a variety of settings

+ Must have strong inter-personal and customer service skills
