Job Description

The Cost Accounting Associate Supervisor will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervise all financial accounting processes within the plant and distribution center.
  • Manage manufacturing cycle count process/inventory for raw ingredient and packaging to ensure compliance with policies including mentoring of cycle counter position.
  • Coordinate, review, and approve all monthly account reconciliations.
  • Supervise period close financial activities for the plant, ensuring all necessary journal entries are processed accurately and timely.
  • Play a leading role in the tracking, analysis, and understanding of variable costs for the plant, ensuring education of plant personnel in understanding their costs.
  • Manage Bill of Materials set up in SAP for all items produced and complete variance analysis for changes during the year.
  • Perform required Sarbanes Oxley audit tests and participate in plant audits as necessary. Drive the mitigation of any control gaps ensuring solid financial controls are in place.
  • Direct the completion of the Accounting self assessment audits(Cost accounting, storeroom, planning materials, physical inventories, etc) and perform audit tests.
  • Assist in the development of the Annual Operating plan and Period Business Reviews (PBUs) as requested.
  • Assist in the identification, analysis, and tracking of plant cost reduction projects.
  • Provide weekly variable labor cost performance data and period spending to various plant teams.
  • Assist in the development of improved plant and DC information systems to drive value and performance through sound decision-making.
  • Maintain the plants cost center accountability structure, ensuring their correct application by partnering with requisitioners and the plant buyer.
  • Support all activities surrounding TPM within pillar responsibilities.
  • Lead and develop the cost accountant, payroll coordinator, and potential SCAs key value-added objectives as well as personal development for succession planning.


  • BS/BA degree required and CPA is a plus.
  • Position requires 3+ years relevant finance or Cost accounting work experience
  • Some working knowledge of SAP, as well as Kronos, and Infor systems.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of PAB manufacturing and distribution processes and procedures.
  • Attention to detail, and strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of desktop computing platform (Excel, Access, Monarch, etc.)
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
