Part-Time Cook

Wage: $15.00/hr.

Shifts run from either 10 am - 6pm or 11:30 am - 7:30 pm

The Cook is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.  The Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc.  Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs. 

 

Essential Functions: 

Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipesSets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipmentPrepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food itemsSafely utilizes a variety of utensils including knivesOperates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foodsArranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelinesProperly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and proceduresCleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensilsMaintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitationEnsures security of company assetsOther duties and tasks as assigned by manager

 

Site Specific Functions

  • Pull products for tempering (thawing)
  • Reheat bulk AP menu items
  • Thicken oral supplements (if required) (example: Ensure)
  • Sandwich assembly
  • Salad assembly
  • Portioning on beltline/tray assembly
  • Receiving and storage of food orders
  • Ensure compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • Advanced FST training.
  • Flexible hours and some weekends
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and weather extreme temperatures (ovens/freezers)
  • Capable of working in environment where noise levels can be high at times
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and push/pull up to 100lbs
  • Understands conversions in order to prepare menus correctly
  • Able to work under pressure/attend to deadlines

Successful applicants will need to successful pass a criminal background check & Vulnerable Sector Screening.
