What youll do

Come join the Automated Migrations & Implementation Team in the CX Center (CXC) focusing on SP technologies as a Consulting Engineer, Services. We need a creative problem solver, comfortable with challenging the status quo and rapidly responding to raised issues. With a top-tier mix of broad and deep networking knowledge and specific area expertise, as well as excellent Customer Relationship Management skills, you're well positioned to become a trusted advisor capable of building proven, long-term relationships with customers. If you have third party (non-cisco) knowledge then it is a definite plus.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering Cisco Professional Services which includes Advisory, Implementation and Migration services.
  • Builds positive relationships with customers & partners.
  • Should have in-depth knowledge of baseline area of specialization which may include sophisticated IP MPLS networks for Fixed Broadband Operator (FTTH/DSL) and Mobile Operator Networks for green field as well as Migration of existing production network to new network
  • Delivers migration plans, with a detailed understanding of customer expectations as per SOW and related dependencies.
  • Builds customer deliverable documentation including Design documents, Migration Plan and Test Plans
  • Interacts with Cisco's customers working within an extended multi-functional team including project manager and account team members (Products and Services Sales; Systems and Consulting Systems Engineers).
  • Demonstrates thought leadership in solving customers technology challenges and helps achieve their business outcomes.
  • Works, with both internal and external teams, to come up with ways to optimize processes, and to improve efficiency using automation wherever possible
  • Collaborates in the process of capturing, developing, sharing, and effectively using organizational knowledge and lead knowledge management in the area of Collaboration Services.
  • Participates to drive continuous improvement as a key practice and has an open mind towards ideation and innovation.

The CX Center (CXC) provides flexible and innovative ways to help meet customer needs while improving profitability for Customer Experience (CX) delivery teams. CXCs highly technical, global resources support customer engagements in all regions. These capabilities expand Cisco's technical reach across all Cisco architectures. Through our network of CX-Centers we enable delivery of innovative services and solutions. Our collaborative delivery model drives scalability, efficiency and innovation across the CX organization.

CXCs are located in strategic regions around the globe Bangalore, Dalian (China), Mexico City, Krakow (Poland) and Raleigh (USA) - enabling a more consistent and relevant customer experience across barriers of time zone, language and local laws.

Who you are 

  • Experience on at least 4 or more product lines like CRS-1/CRS-3/CRS-X, GSR 12000, ASR9K/ASR1K, ASR9xx, NCS5xx a must. Engineer must be experienced and have internal product and/or Architecture knowledge.
  • Deep knowledge and experience BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IP/MPLS, QoS, MPLS Traffic Engineering, Multicast, L2/L3 VPN, M-VPN, M-BGP, Segment Routing.
  • Experience in Installation, Configuration and troubleshooting and/or Network Solution designing of Cisco Routers and switches.
  • Having executed Migration windows and migration projects will be a plus.
  • Experience of 8+ years on Cisco (CSCO) products.
  • Must have at least one competitor platform knowledge - Alcatel Lucent (ALU) or Juniper (JNPR)
  • Knowledge of Virtualization (VMWare, Openstack, Tail-f) technologies 
  • Cisco certifications (CCIE R&S, SP, DC etc.)
  • Experience with Nexus 3K/5K/9K product lines will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in scripting with Tcl/Expect, Python Java and Perl
  • Good communications skills a must. Must have a validated ability to relate to customer representatives and executives at CxO level.
  • Must have deep knowledge of arriving at Network Architecture and Network strategy in customer digital transformation journey.
  • Skills and experience in working independently. Ability to lead a team of engineers.
