Who You Are:

Candidate will need to possess a solid understanding of physical equipment Installation, testing processes, strong trouble shooting skills and project documentation.  This position is responsible for planning, developing implementation plans and executing the deployment solution for the service provider.  This will involve working with the Business unit, deployment team and the customer.  The candidate will develop deployment guideline requirements, installation test plans and be involved with executing the deployment and final documenting results.

       Willingness to travel is ultimate criteria nationwide, 75%-100% travel in peak times followed by 25-50% in slow times

       Perform site surveys to identify the work that needs to be completed before the Implementation can commence and the responsibilities for completing this work 

       MOP creation, ability to create procedure documents for onsite team for initial software installation on Cisco devices

       Lead maintenance windows and perform cutovers.

       Knowledge of telco quality standards for installation of equipment in infrastructure sites.

Who Youll Work With:

This position is responsible for deploying, testing, supporting and documenting Service Provider networks containing Cisco IP NCS6K, NCS5500 and ASR9K (IP backbone/edge router) products, solutions and supporting network solutions. Experience in Cisco Optical NCS2k, NCS1K, NCS4K (DWDM, DCI, TDM to IP and OTN) is a plus.  The individual will also use Ciscos network management solutions for configuring and testing the network solution.

       Large-scale IP R/S implementation and design experience in Service Provider Backbone/Edge networks (Service Provider experience preferred)

       Experienced level in IP network troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment including Multi-Chassis, Spine/Leaf routing and 10/100GigE Ethernet networks

       Experience With IP ping, IOS-XR commands using CLI (show lldp neighbors, show interface) and Layer2 Switching IP Routing protocols (MPLS, MPLS-TP OSPF, RPS).

       Large-scale Optical network implement and design experience in Service Provider vertical (Service Provider experience preferred).

       Optical DWDM, SONET, TL1 protocol, OTN, Carrier Ethernet, Layer2 Switching IP Routing protocols (MPLS, MPLS-TP OSPF, RPS).

Desired Education, Skills, and Certifications:

       Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus a minimum of 5-7 years meaningful experience in field deployment, implementation, system/network troubleshooting and network engineering of IP R/S networks (Optical DWDM & SONET experience is a strong plus).

  • CCIE in Route & Switch; Service Provider; or Data Center Technologies - Preferred
  • 10+ years Experience in the industry with vast experience in IP Backbone/Edge, Routers/Switch, solutions (NCS6K, NCS5500 and ASR9K).
  • Experience in Optical products such as DWDM, OTN, SONET, SDH is a strong plus.
  • 2+ years experience in IP Internetworking, Layer2, MPLS-TP, MPLS-IP associated with IP and Optical products.
  • Inter-network troubleshooting experience.
  • 2+ years Network Design experience, medium to large-scale network design skills and network planning.
  • Strong customer-facing written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation, consultative presentation and technical writing skills. The ability to work effectively and contribute as a team member is critical.
  • Familiar with interface languages - IOS, IOS-XR
  • Experience in design, deployment and testing of Cisco IP backbone/Edge network solutions, single chassis, Multi-Chassis and Spine/Leaf topology.
  • Knowledge in IP Internetworking protocols (GMPLS, BGP, IP-MPLS) routing protocols, DC Technologies,
  • Automation tool creation, use of Scripting (Python preferred, SPLUNK or others.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio for project documentation.
