Responsibilities

The Contractor shall serve as Configuration Manager for the UAVIO Project who will identify, organize, and control software and hardware configuration changes. During the execution of these requirements, through access to documentation such as mechanical and/or electrical drawings, assembly drawings, manuals, etc., the Configuration Manager may be exposed to other contractors proprietary information. Requirements for this position include:

  • Provide support to project teams in configuring and base-lining project items
  • Prepare configuration documentations and maintain Configuration Management (CM) database
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes
  • Maintain data quality, integrity and security of CM database
  • Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations
  • Develop security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items
  • Work with configuration teams in development and enhancement of CM tools
  • Assist in management, maintenance and automating of CM tools
  • Maintain proper version controls of software deliverables
  • Oversee the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments
  • Analyze configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions
  • Responsible for the Configuration Change Board (CCBs); ensures appropriate functional areas interested in the change/release sign off on the item(s)

The core functions of CM (change management) include:

  • Configuration identification (Form, fit, function or backwards compatibility)
  • Configuration control (Baseline into CM for ECO or ECR process; change management and CCB to release of item)
  • Configuration status accounting (visibility into documentation, status and configuration information concerning the product)
  • Configuration audits
  • Ensure all Configuration Items (CIs) are identified and baselined
  • Ensure all items generated are under version control and are archived in the CM repository
  • Responsible for hardware and software integration
  • As applicable, ensure current and accurate security markings are identified on software, hardware, and documentation related to project artifacts (in conjunction with UAVIO Engineers)
  • Responsible for implementing CM policies and procedures
  • Participate and provide Configuration/Data Management support at various meetings that may include Configuration Control Boards, Physical Configuration Audit, Software Engineering Review Boards, etc
  • Develop and maintain a CM Plan and Desktop guide

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience serving as a Configuration Manager, identifying, organizing, and controlling software and hardware configuration changes
  • Experience providing support to project teams in configuring and base-lining project items;
  • Experience preparing configuration documentations and maintaining a configuration management (CM) database;
  • Experience reviewing and recommending improvements to existing CM processes;
  • Experience maintaining data quality, integrity, and security of a CM database;
  • Experience scheduling audits on CM databases and assist in implementing audit recommendations;
  • Experience developing security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items;
  • Experience managing, maintaining, and automating existing CM tools;
  • Experience overseeing the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments;
  • Experience analyzing configuration issues and proposing appropriate resolutions;
  • Experience with Configuration Change Boards (CCBs);
  • Minimum security clearance level of SECRET

AND EITHER:

  • Minimum associate degree and at least ten (10) years of experience in skills identified above

OR

  • Formal degree requirement may be evaluated and waived if applicant provides at least fifteen (15) years of experience
