  • 5-7 years experience managing configuration items (CI) such as artifacts, deliverables, and data.
  • 3-5 years experience in configuration control throughout the system lifecycle.
  • 3-5 years with performing configuration analysis, and operating and maintaining a CM data repository.
  • 5-7 years performing configuration audits and documenting results.
  • IAT Level II certification required.

  • BA/BS Degree in specialized field.

Edu/Exp: HS +11-14 Years, BA/BA 5-10 Years, or MA/MS +3-6 Years

DOD Secret clearance required


Support the Army Enterprise Cloud Management Agency (ECMA) as a Configuration Database Manager performing database administration as a primary Scrum team member. The ECMA plays a critical role in delivering the Army Cloud, based on a hybrid, multi-cloud solution focused on moving the Army to its objective state of convergence. The ECMA determines the best solution for moving existing data, applications, systems, and related capabilities from existing legacy environments and state to a future environment and state in which the modernized solution and data are operationalized to increase data value, enhance speed, effectiveness and efficiency while leveraging cloud technology as the backbone to enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Tasks include:

Implements and optimizes the computerized database systems that support the modernization of cloud migrations.

Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.

Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general.

Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements relative to all authoritative data sources.

Maintains security and integrity controls.

Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.

May develop stored procedures and/or triggers. Administers a variety of database systems ,such as Microsoft SQL Server, and other Database Management Systems (DBMS).

Develops and enforces database administration and user standards and procedures; audits, modifies, and amends data in systems using SQL commands.

Oversees the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL Servers and remote sites.

Reviews technical designs, reports, documentation produced in application and data modernization migration efforts during sprints.
