The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for creating and refining business and systems requirements to address business opportunities and formulating documentation to support the development and implementation of the technical solution. This position plays a major role in the development and implementation of core business systems along with mentoring and guiding other Business Systems Analysts. In addition, the Business Systems Analyst serves as the liaison between business users and technology programmers to understand user need and develop required reporting and data analysis and may serve in a project manager capacity for smaller work efforts.

  • Analyzes business needs, documents requirements, and translates needs into functional, nonfunctional, and/or technical specifications
  • ""
  • Evaluates downstream business, system, process, and organizational impacts
  • ""
  • Provides end user support and serves as an IT subject matter resource for reporting package and system issues
  • ""
  • Uses sound critical thinking skills along with managed care, or physician office business knowledge to have insight and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions
  • ""
  • Performs a key role in the development and implementation of enterprise - wide reporting systems. This role may interface with multiple business units such as quality, risk adjustment, accounting / finance, claims, operations, physician clinics, customer service, executive management, and sales and marketing
  • ""
  • Develops and maintains sound relationships with both internal and external customers. This position acts as a key team member to both IT and the assigned business unit
  • ""
  • Tracks progress and notifies management of issues that require escalation and assists with resolving or coordinating the resolution of system and process issues
  • ""
  • Assists in the development of project plan and conducts assigned tasks to ensure project success. This can include development of work plans, timelines, project task items, schedules, and resource estimations
  • ""
  • Collaboration on various projects as assigned
  • ""
  • Assists in the development of IT communication, training materials, processes and procedures are related to reporting packages
  • ""
  • Plans and assists with oversight of testing processes and activities, including defect identification and resolution in collaboration with the designated business partner

  • Provides subject matter expert and operational support to internal business partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors degree)
  • ""
  • 3+ years of experience in developing requirements and performing systems analysis
  • ""
  • 2+ years of major software systems implementation experience
  • ""
  • 2+ years of analysis experience using SQL
  • ""
  • Proven understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • ""
  • Proven Microsoft Office skills to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • ""
  • Ability to analyze and document process and data flow
  • ""
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations
  • ""

  • Knowledge of the Health Care industry and related business functions
  • ""
  • Functional understanding of Informatics / ETL, SQL Server (Version 2008 or higher), Visual Studio (Version 2008 or higher), SQL SSRS, and SQL SSIS
